Some of you may have hear of the Hidden Wiki and may have been curious on how to access it. Well the hidden wiki belongs to the Deep Web. When you are browsing the internet it has been said it is like skimming the top of the ocean with a net. If you want access to what's below the surface read on. To give you an idea of how massive this section of the web is imagine this, it has been estimated the deep web consists of 7,500 Terabytes while the surface web consists of 167 Terabytes. Granted most of the deep web is just useless backdoors of information. Here's the good stuff.

First, download and install Firefox if you don't have it

Then go to https://www.torproject.org/download/download.html.en (https://www.torproject.org/download/download.html.en) and download the web add-on Tor

Ok, now you should be able to go in the Tor folder and it will say Start Tor Browser, before you do this make sure you have all firewalls on, you turn javascript and cookies off (go to tools then options and it will be under the content and privacy tabs). I recommend installing AVG at least for some anti-virus protection. Personally I've never had a problem with supposed hackers but hey better safe than sorry.

Now you are ready, when the Tor box opens click "Use A New Identity", this will give you a new ip (proxy).

You're now ready to explore the deep web, pretty much everything you can buy on the deep web accepts BitCoins only. It's not that crazy if you don't know where to look cause remember its hidden. Tor sites use a .onion domain that only works in Tor. A good starting point would be the hidden wiki which is located here [ http://kpvz7ki2v5agwt35.onion/ ]

A lot of these sites go down occasionally and sometimes come back up. There's a lot of stuff to do here and personally I think it's pretty cool. If you don't think you can handle all the things the deep web offers responsibly then don't go on it. Note that it does have some not so great stuff, including some fucked up porn that I would avoid at all costs. Trust me.

But if you don't go looking for it you probably won't find it.

That's very insecure. I wouldn't want these sites storing cookies and knowing my location. Tor is much safer

Plus you cant click the links, you'd have to change every single one to that format

I think it is fairly inaccurate to call Tor Wiki part of the deep web.

Deep Web = Websites not indexed by major search engines. If you buy a server and put up some site that you don't advertise around, it is part of the deep web. Most of the internet is the deep web.

Dark Net = Difficult to detect cipher nets, like Freenet and various friend to friend fileshare programs allow for.

Cipher Net = Any network that uses encryption in an attempt to provide anonymity. I would consider Tor part of the Ciphernet, but not really part of the Deep Web and not really a Dark Net for that matter.

Well it's still not accessed in the surface web. But either way its relative to bitcoins

Is this kind of like how the surface of the Earth only makes up a tiny fraction of the Earth's total volume? I mean, all these cities and all this culture and all these landscapes don't hold a candle to the exiting unseen world thousands of miles deep inside the Earth, where no doubt, all the real people are interacting, and having celebrations, parties, and where utopias are, where the real exciting culture is, etc.

very exciting education about darkweb. However since i joined the internet , this is one of the resources i have always feared to join hahaha or to visit...I have been lured to belief its very harmful and that lots of bad things happening there , drugs etc and even they can hack your laptop and so on. I remembered i tried it the other time , but because i fear, i had to exit in few minutes. I was just wondering if your approach is a 100% secured way to stay on darkweb without any harm of hack?

I heard about the hidden wiki but never used it However many say it is bad Because in most cases, new services are scammed. For this reason we have to verify before clicking any link they are farming I think everything you can buy on the deep web is just too risky by accepting Bitcoin.

You have explained accessing the web very in detail and it seems pretty easy to do it.
However, I think that it is very risky to do it especially when you are not aware how to protect yourself and have a lot of knowledge regarding cyber-security and ways to avoid getting hacked.

I still don't agree with that newfangled "dark" terminology.

Anyway Tor is not the only one, but all the posts here seem to focus in Tor, maybe some would think that's "The" Dark web? Wrong.

Its not union its onion. Tor means The Onion Router.

You can publish content that is only available inside Tor, in their terminology its a "Hidden service". The best thing is you can publish it from your PC and no one needs to know its you, so its great for freedom of speech. When you do this, it creates a .onion address that is only visible when using Tor.

Because its a separate network, it has no relation with the "normal" web, this also means all the official domain servers for internet do not exist inside tor, so no .com for you. There is only .onion, and nothing else. Its more like a convenience to tell browsers (and users) you want something not from the normal internet, but from tor.

Because there is no control in what people can publish, it is possible to find "questionable" content in there. Doesn't mean its the majority or even the main reason it exists. Tor is an invaluable tool to defeat censorship, but yes it was actually made for Navy agents to pass info from behind enemy lines. Its is nice of them to share their project to the world, since its open source you can be sure there are no hidden backdoors. (Same way the NSA gave us SELinux).

I hope you don't lose your excitement expecting to see some sort of matrix like thing when it could actually be some boring text page about things you already know or even someones blog using a pseudonym.

It is said Satoshi used tor sometimes. The confusion may arise because tor also allows access back to the "normal" web, but this access comes from volunteers willing to run exit nodes. Unfortunately all sorts of people abuse this and very often those IPs are flagged even if you have done nothing wrong there was some idiot script kiddie insulting people in some forum or trying "hacking tools" against others from the same IP.

There are some projects that don't have this link back to the normal internet, bypassing the problem but becoming relegated to obscurity. Maybe that's why they call them "Dark"? It still sounds silly to me.

Anyway i refuse to call Tor deep, dark or whatever sounds cool. Its just another tool to defeat censorship. It kinda resembles the Internet in the 90ies, before "normies" invaded it.
