Luckily, it's an easy read and only took a few hours.
Having said that, I thought the first part of the book was better than the second half. The first part establishes the premise of the elites exploiting the lower classes for the purposes of entertainment and social control. In the second half, the competitors start "playing to the camera" in the hope of getting useful things parachuted down to them, which I thought cheapened the plot. The Road and Let The Right One In are some recent examples where the movie was even better than the book. We'll just have to see about this one. I'm seeing the movie later this week with a few friends. From what I hear the movie has lots action but doesn't focus on the emotions enough.
