I would like to list out the top places of Bitcoin discussion where Big Brothers discuss their business and communicate with customers. I'm listing here what I know. If u know more, please add below, let us know which one is your best choice and why ?

I like bitcointalk.org the best because there is such a huge database of questions and answers, and the community is really big.
It is the largest community. I also like forums over irc, because you can look for any topic at any time.

I have found some small forums on the web, but nothing like bitcointalk.

I also like bitcointalk.org as well.
A lot users, many quality discussions, very good tutorials for beginners and many experienced users.

I think this place is the only definitive and well rounded place to discuss bitcoin and get all the news. I've never been a fan of reddit.

What is bitcointalk.org?

Used to get bitcoins news there; it is different than here and you get the most discussed topics on top with a more elaborate OP message that looks like an article

Is it so ? Is Bitcointalk larger than Reddit's Bitcoin community ? Any reliable data ? I think Theymos may confirm as he is the admin here as well as the Mod there.

I don't know much about these places to be honest. The only other place I visit regularly is cryptocointalk.com which is decent, but definitely a smaller scale community compared to bitcointalk.

Bitcointalk is definetly the best, and top place for bitcoin discussions,since it offers everything related to bitcoin, from development, to mining and investing.
The only downside is that it also has alot of p&d coins that emerge each minute of the day, which only confuses some people..
I only discuss here tho, since old habbits die hard :)

Bitcointalk is definitely the #1, with a member count of 351,490 (that is more than one-third of all the Bitcoiners). But other forums are also there, such as cryptocrypt, which was started by Goat.  ;D

It would be interesting to know how many of those are unique members and how many are sockpuppets.

It's stacked with some influential people.

The IRC channel was likely the top contender until several years ago when it was dethroned by this forum. Reddit likely has more members overall, however only a small percentage of them ever visit/post on /r/bitcoin. I didn't even know that the BTF had a forum on their website.

Just checked cryptocrypt.org. Never heard of it. Seems it has only 460 Members as per their forum stat. By the way, how do u know the number 351,490 is more than one-third of all the Bitcoiners ? I mean is there any way to estimate the total no. of all the Bitcoiners ?

I just stumbled upon a new one. It is http://letstalkbitcoin.com/forum/. Does anyone have any idea about its popularity ?

Taking a quick look at that forum, it looks like they only have ~4 pages of general bitcoin discussion, while this forum has 509 pages worth of threads.

I would say, unquestionably that bitcointalk.org is the best place to go to discuss bitcoin and things related to bitcoin.

Here is the place. All the other info outlets news usually comes from here first. I look at coindesk's news page and follow several btc related twitter accounts, but I unfollowed Marc andreeson when he started bragging that he had never read a book ever.

These are the places of main discussion and these are enough to have it all

How many users are on cryptocointalk and bitcoinforum? to my knowledge reddit's bitcoin group has around 130k.

Bitcointalk is definitely the best forum.

Another forum, with nice projects are Bitbiz.io and there are also some opportunity to make some satoshi's through a shares system.

Reddit for me, are always breaking ground for new news.  ;)

Bitcoin talk is probably the most popular Bitcoin related forum mate!

Ive recently visited a bitcoin chat room but I do not know what its name is but people activity is great

I have been on and stumbled up on many places that have some really great information and are great places to be part of but to be honest bitcointalk.org has been the one to help me the most.

I also think that it is this forum, and the subreddit on reddit. This place discusses everything that happens around Bitcoin, but the amount of craziness is kind if high. /r/Bitcoin is already kind of filtered, although it is an echo-chamber at times!

Most black market forums have a good bitcoin info.

Bitcointalk is for sure the number one spot and I'm curious where social networking sites are on the list of top places to discuss bitcoin.  I'm thinking if there weren't so many alternative coins clouding the discussion This would obvious that Bitcointalk it the #1 place.

I sometimes wonder if Bitcointalk.org will be able to sustain the amount of constant influx of new users and tons of posts daily. Will the site ever become an invite only sort of thing? (you need an invitation of someone to register). This has happened with most forums that reach an insanely big amount of traffic. If Bitcoin goes mainstream I can see how could this happen.

They cant do that. Bitcointalk will cater as much as bitcoin users as possible. Its their job to upgrade the site to cater the influx.

It's hardly a top place for discussion and it's not a Bitcoin forum. Goat is and always has been a complete nut job and has been involved in some pretty good scams. His offerings on GLBSE and the pirate pass through are enough to keep me from ever trading with him. I don't understand some of the people that chose to go there but I especially don't understand Tysat having anything to do with it. I'm sure gweedo fits right in though. I think I'll pass on a forum on a goat on a boat. lol

The reason it will be able to handle the influx of people is because more users on the site mean high ad revenue, and more ad revenue means more money to pay for servers and bandwidth to handle more users.

I would also highly doubt that bitcointalk would ever go to a "invite only" model. They may halt new account registrations if accounts are getting registered too quickly (as they have done before)

That is correct the site is not only here to educate us but also to make money. I dont know how much they get from ads, but I know its a lot.

HAHAHAHA I was surprised to see this LMAO owner is running and hiding. For the people that were defending BFL I wonder how they felt when they heard the owner of the company was already in trouble for his illegal actions before this. I think this site is not a good source for Bitcoin information its probably full of complaints, and arguments about BFL inability to deliver what they promised.

I only use this site for Bitcoins and use the respective coins forums sites for each coin I invest in.

The best way to get information on a coin is to use the specific forum for that coin on the coins Announcement page (HERE) or the forum listed on the coins site.

I'd say this site the most. This place is all about BTC lol.

Reddit, there are also facebook groups that you can join.

Majority of these forums are useless.

I just stick to this forum and reddit. You can find everything you need between these two places.
