BTCJam isn't a scam, but it's full of scammers. You'd be better off holding your btc in your own wallet.

I hear though that they have recently started to clean up their act and tightened up their KYC procedures
Yes avoid but keep an eye on them just in case they get better

too big a risk to play in btcjam investment, because they easily lend btc only to verify a government id card and it can be edited

There are numerous scammers on BTCJam.
If you want to lend out your bitcoin, you can use the "lending" section on bitcointalk instead, and ask for collateral.

The platform itself isn't a scam. But it is infected with borrower with the intention to scam lender.

Just too risky as you are giving up control to a site that has massive scammer issues
Wouldn't do it, just doesn't add up

As Shakespeare said, "Neither a borrower nor a lender be." When you make loans on any P2P lending site, you're basically taking a risk and there have been stories about people taking out a loan and then skipping out of town.
