Title: To those kicking themselves for not being 'early adopters'...
Post by: schnell on April 03, 2012, 09:50:35 AM
As of September 2011 60,000 clients connected in 24 hours. Taking into account userbase growth and online wallets, I would say bitcoin has 70,000 regular users.
There are 7 billion people in the world.
70,000 is 0.001% of 7 billion.
Now shut the fuck up.

I take it that you're not an image-insert-type guy, but that's okay, for who am I to judge.  ;)

People have been complaining about the early adopter unfairness since before I knew about bitcoin, but I still consider myself an early adopter. If bitcoin becomes as big as many of us think it can, you will do quite well for yourself if you own a few hundred coins, which right now can be acquired for less than the price of a decent flatscreen TV. If you get in now, plenty of people will be jealous of you 5 years from now if all goes well. No complaints from me.

If you buy now you can be an "earlier" adopter than lots of people who bought bitcoins between mid-May and around September 2011.

First off, for some reason I feel like I need to say "Shut up, Atlas", but that's probably not appropriate.

To anyone who thinks we are not early adopters right now-- you have no imagination or skill apparently. There are thousands of businesses and projects that haven't been started yet. Get off your fat, lazy, D&D loving asses and do something useful.

You're exactly right, Wright. In this respect, we're all early adopters in that regard. We all have the power within us to profit from whatever project we develop that incorporates Bitcoin. Who knows, for during the interim one may stumble upon a completely different profitable business plan, one not even reliant on Bitcoin as its main revenue source.

Ancient residents of Yap are the true early adopters of Bitcoin.
