Title: [ANN][CACR] California Coin Reloaded - FRESH CAC | PoW | Forked the DEV |

Forking the DEV since 2014

*Old Thread -  https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=589672.msg8500452#msg8500452
*Poll to decide what to do with old block chain - http://goo.gl/TjtFY1

***This is a community effort to migrate The California Coin and its users from a corrupt deciving / scammer "dev" to a new FRESH start utilizing  FRESH as the PoW which is comparable in some regards to x11,13,15 ***

Please be patient while we collect ideas and thoughts from the original CAC community

What we know so far (what will be implemented):

*Scrypt PoW will be changed to FRESH PoW* : your electrical bill for mining will be minimal compared to mining scrypt - heat generated from your cards will be FAR LESS (cards will seem idle) - lifetime of your cards will increase as they are not being strained to the max with heat issues etc

*Coin Supply will be LOWERED* : There will be far less coins in circulation - no firm decision yet on amount of coins - likely 5 - 10 million coins

*PoW ONLY* : The coin will have NO PoS turning point.  This mimics the same structure that made Bitcoin and Litecoin successful, this also carries technical and economical benefits.

*Android Wallet / Iphone Wallet* : Mobile features will be an essential focal point for the new CAC  - devlopment on mobile applications will commence shortly after new CaC launch

*Integration into payment gateways* - You will be able to spend your FRESH CAC anywhere you can spend your BTC

*More to come from FRESH CAC - CAC Reloaded*

Thank You

Representing the California Coin Community

We plan to launch the new coin based on FRESH PoW once the details are ironed out with the old block chain migration.  We are waiting for the community input before making final decisions on which way to progress.

good.

Hope fresh algo catch on.

FRESH algo for a fresh start at CAC coin.  Fresh uses FAR LESS POWER and much less strain put on your GPUS also ASIC resistant.  FRESH is better than x11, x13, x15 In my opinion.  We will have a great community and great coin on this new algo

FRESH is the best algo right now. No other algo can compare to FRESH.

x11 has become the new scrypt.

I would be inclined to vote for starting a new chain, but how will coins be exchanged?

You all would get more karma and your money would be better spent if you donated to feed the homeless or donated to help with Bitcoin development than to waste your money on probable scams.

This is the fix to the previous scam.  We are all about Co existing with bitcoin.   Helping those is need is part of what we stand for.   We plan to have a fresh cac donation address that will go towards helping Those facing addiction problems within the state of California.   This is something the old dev would never have considered.

Since none of you guys believe me when I said dev has a bunch of clone accounts. Check these users' last log on date. I might missed a couple but you get the idea:

Also, none of the voters are from California, why bother working on something that you can't use. Let just call it Central America Coin  ;D

I don't see a 3rd revision of this coin making it. There are no innovations with a new fork.

Simply changing it to FRESH won't solve any of the underlying problems of adoption and use.

Also, there are other alternatives that are much faster and more efficient on a wide range of cards.
NIST5 / Groestl / Myriad Groestl / x11 are also options to look into. They are very energy efficient.

If we're going to do a big change, take a look at SFR (saffron coin) and consider implementing a lot of their ideas.

Some of these example would include
Exchange in the wallet
Ticker of current price in usd / btc / ltc / doge
Total minted coins
POS/POW Hybrid system for better network security for mining and staking (no pow block height limit)

I do think however if we move over to a new coin and do a swap of old CAC coins to new CACR coins then I could see it working, but how will you prevent the DEV from CAC from dumping his into the new currency.

dev, or anyone on here with CentOS, can you write an autogen.sh and configure.ac for centos?

https://github.com/dogecoin/dogecoin/blob/master/configure.ac

https://github.com/dogecoin/dogecoin/blob/master/autogen.sh

^ this is what i mean. CentOS installs are difficult sometimes, this will help exchanges and pools running CentOS

this is what auto-install gist looks like after those are complete:

we have to make it so that it is bullet proof and the old dev can not get to it.
like the info brian_n... has send is a good start then that way we known if this si correct those accounts will get no exchange .. my thoughts on it.

I am sure as a group we come up with the right idea to solve this and there are many people around it which can make this happen.

Lets look forward, not backward.
We as a community invested time and money into this coin.
Let us turn this coin around from another scam to a success.
We have the chance and we should use it.

First lets make the changeover.
Than the coin needs a market where it can be used.
After that we can look into which new options might be helpful for this coin.
There are a few interesting innovations, some newer coins are developing; let them work it out and than adopt it ;)

Guldencoin is an example of a national coin that looks successfull and Strlingcoin looks prommissing too.
Without a market that is willing to use that coin, the best innovation will do nothing.

And the name? Depends if the targeted market will still be California. If it becomes Canada Coin it wouldn't be the end of the world for me.

Disclaimer: I am from Europe, not from California but wouldn't mind living there or on a nice caribian island later.  ;D ;D ;D

It's good to know that if true, those accounts are all gone now.

At least that worthless dev is nowhere to be found. I had planned to launch my own coin, maybe I'll do some work on this one first to get up to par with my skills.

B) Stable
C) latest technology so it is for the future
D) expandable and a core platform we can build on it

So far on the poll we have:

2 Votes for: Continue using old premined chain (Dev owns lots of coins)
15 Votes for: Start a totally new chain (coins from old chain will count towards shares (coins on new chain)

I have been mining this coin from day 1, waiting for the price to go up....still waiting  :-\ . So, if this takes place, what will happen to the CAC I have been holding onto?? 1:1, 1:5, 1:10 ? Im all for getting this coin going, but I dont want to just lose what I have already invested in. I have had my a/c on 24/7 @ 64 degrees for a while now to keep all the cards cool. Just my 2 cents

Right now you can't even sell it for 1 Sat, so all your minded coins are worth .... 0

Idea was to base the exchange on the percentage mined.
Whatever it will be, it will be better than the '0' you have now.

Yes hello

This is still moving forward - as you can imagine there are quite the amount of details and variables to go over before launching the new coin.  Especially since we want to make it "fair" for the old coin holders - and on top of that we need to solve the issue of the old scammer fat dev gaining any value within the new coin with his pre-mine stock.

We have put together some options on how this will work and I am reviewing them.

For starts it looks like we will make a whole new coin on the fresh algorithm.  The coin will be called "FRESH CAC"  (kind of makes sense in many ways ;)

For the trade in from old cac to new cac we have done some complex mathematical stuffs and determined how much the old fat scammer DEV would have owned and how much would have been truly mined by the users.

We propose this:

1. Old CAC to FRESH CAC claims can only be done ONCE per user - so you will need to send all your old CAC to one address and claim you own it.
2.  The username and the amount of old CAC owned must be submitted to a google spread sheet that will be made public  (we want to be transparent)
3.  The new Fresh CAC team will generate an old CAC address for you - and bind it to your name
4.  You send your OLD CAC to the old CAC address we create for you.  The total must match what you stated in step 2.  (an escrow service can be used in the event you do not trust us and think we plan on running off with your old useless CAC (which would be pointless on our behalf)
5. We will update the spreadsheet stating you submitted your old CAC and the transfer to new CAC is in progress.
6.  We will create a FRESH CAC address for you and credit your FRESH CAC address with the % of old CAC you  owned within the old CAC coin supply.
7.  We will supply you with the FRESH CAC private key to claim your new FRESH CAC
8.  You will transfer the new FRESH CAC to a new address that only you control.
9.  We inform the exchanges FRESH CAC to take place of OLD CAC on X date (x being a date we have yet to decide)
10.  We celebrate New CACs and let the old scammer fat DEV die with old CACs in his hand.

We are still looking at ways to prevent the old fat scammer dev from exchanging his old cac he is holding in his hands to the new fresh cac... although with some calculations and "observant" features between the pool operators and other high end investors we can roughly calculate how much CAC regular users would have owned and how much scammer dev holding old cac would have owned.   It will be hard for him to gain large shares into new CAC.

This is where we are at - thank you for sticking with us.

Thanks for quick response, what you are proposing does sound fair to me,maybe a little confusing, but fair. I will be watching closely to see what happens. Its nice to see other people have interest in this coin ;D. I see a lot of dumpers, not so many buyers though. Good luck. You have my support

Alright so the decision is FINAL.

We will be moving to a new Coin on the new algo - for FRESH CAC.

The new coin will go under development at the end of this week. ( estimate. AUG 29th)

Early mid next week we plan to launch the new coin (estimate. SEP 4th) Providing no delays in development

End next week we plan to launch the new site and block explorer and pool (estimate SEP 7th)

Beginning of week after we launch the conversion from old cac to new cac. (estimate SEP 9th)

Start of week after we notify exchanges (estimate SEP 14th)

At that point we are good for the fresh start of new coin  (Estimate moon shine boner time)

Is everyone ok with this schedule ?

I know it will be a wait... but as you can imagine there is quiet the amount of work to do.

To add to this there will be a new pool also which will be a multipool called dnapool.net with various coins on it. The exact time of the multipool will follow with further announcements and in-line with the new version of FCAC

Also pool operators are invited to add the new coin freshcac to their pool. for this please register your interest on the board here.
NOTE: No fee is paid to pool-operators to set the new coin up on their pool.
New operators will be added to page 1 once they have the new coin set up also on their pool.

Reorganized my old wallet to be prepared; that endless list of small amounts got on my nerves anyway and now it is much shorter and neater.

The road map looks reasonable, even that I wish it could go faster.  ;D

Haven't mined this fast algo yet, but will test it one of the next days.

If you need ppl to test, let us know (Warning: 5850 here  :o )

Sounds great, should we stop mining CAC for now, or will the conversion rate be worth it to keep mining?

At this point I wouldn't buy any old CAC because risk is too high the BTC is going right into the wallet of the old 'dev'.

About mining some old coins to increase your percentage for the new coin  ... network hashrate of 17.5 MH/s shows that some think it can make sense.

How long will we have to transfer the coins? (ie. for how long the spreadsheet will be available)

And I have another question, how will you know that nobody (previous dev) claims more than once different smaller amounts of coins?

Example:
- I am old dev I have xx amounts of coins which you guys know more or less.
- I send from 2 or more different adresses x amounts of coins
- You send new coins back, I regroup all new coins in new adress

They are limiting the amount the other dev can transfer because of such a large premine it isn't too hard to trace im sure. It is limited per BCT account I believe too, so unless he has a ton of accounts good luck getting the most of out those coins. At this point I actually think most are given away for bounties or already dumped.

Hello all old CAC owners.

Just as a heads up - how would you feel that to properly convert your old CAC to new Fresh CAC that you have to submit your photo ID during the proccess ?  (I know sounds weird) but really it is the only TRUE way we can be 100% certain that the asshole scammer dev who is reading this, who fucked us all, would not be allowed to touch our new fresh CACs.

Please comment.  I will be reading, and listening.

thank you

With all respect to the idea and the reason behind it, I do not feel comfortable with that for various reasons.

How about an export of the transfer log of the wallet instead?
I wouldn't have any problems with that; it only shows that I mined the majority of my coins and only traded a small amount (in/out).
It should even not be too hard to write a little program to sum it all up, even by address if you want.

Would that work? I would rather to that then the ID thing... And even with the ID what are you going to check? The guy just has to borrow a friend's ID and it's done.

that is the only way to be sure that that fat scammer Cali does not get a dime. he scammed enough people (also those who funded him for dev including me)
This way we know if it is him or not.
Once the verification is done the ID info will be destroyed again.

Some or most of the premine are still in the original wallets. One can easily exclude those addresses and if they got move we can follow the block chain.

No, never, stupid idea

What's stopping the dev using another persons ID, nothing.

I don't know you, you could also be a scammer, you could be the original dev for all we know, that's how fucked up this whole industry is.

If you do go down the ID route I will not be using my ID , ill use a fake one or someone else, I'm not dumb enough to sent my info to some random person.

If the old 'dev' has mined some coins after the official launch date, so be it. Let us consider those legit and be done with it. Don't waste a lot of time to find every single address key he might have. As much as I too would like to close him out entirely, I don't see a chance to make sure it is 100%. My main worry is the massive premine (minus legit bounties given out). We need to document where it is and make sure it will not get exchanged to the new coin.

To add to the idea of the transaction log ..

Transactions are public on the blockchain anyway, so there is no additional private info to worry about.
The only link will be the email address (or forum PM) you use to send the log in.

Export transaction log as cvs, the only export format the wallet has.
Excel text import (comma separated, you can change number separators too), make sum of column 'amount' ... all is there in thousands of lines. Sort by addresses or amount and if something looks suspicious, look it up on the blockchain and/or ask the wallet owner for more information until you are satisfied.
Maybe even do check some entries that look ok, only to make sure.
Or you can to a cross check of the addresses with other logs.

I did it with my wallet last night and I see nothing I am worried about to share with bitcad4u.
Entries are
- some early Faucet entries (easy to check)
- mining with different pools (easy to check)
- mining on my own (there we have a lot of different addresses but the time diff should give a hint too about legit or not)
- 2 exchanges (easy to check)
- payments to myself to reorganize everything on 1 address (shows a 0 coins or small fees).

There was a little diff of 7 in the last decimal of the amount Excel counted, but I can live with that micro micro diff.

Do we still have a running public block explorer?

Maybe I should just give up on my 200million CAC. sigh

Before you trash them you can send them to me ... would multiply my amount :) LOL

First of all:
English is not my native language (think I said it before), so don't get upset if something isn't set in the most polite way.
I am not trying to upset you here.

We are in crypto land where anon is a big deal.
At the same time we want a single person not being able to change his pile of premine into the new coin.

Not an easy task.
Can we make it and be sure this person will not be able to change a single coin?
Sadly I don't think so.

Several people don't feel comfortable about sending in copies of their id card and gave examples of why this also would not make sure he is exclude.

I came up with the idea of the transaction log and tried to explain why I think it would be a good solution, even that it is not 100% sure either.
Whatever he has mined himself will be hard to track down to him I fear. Here he looks like every other miner, you and me included.
The premine is a different situation I think; there we should be able to find the traces of those coins (provided we have a working block explorer, even a local one will work).

Can we discuss this? Maybe others have more ideas they can present and discuss?

I really would like to make progress here.

On a side note:
How is the programming of the new algo going? Or did it stop until changing old to new coins is decided? I think this is sort of independent from each other.

yeah, i know crypto is supposed to be anonymous, yada yada yada. but seriously, can't we figure this out with those ACTIVE folks, who we've seen mining, posting, being part of the community?? we see the same user names show up in posts, i see the same user names show up in the only pool still online. its rudimentary, considering the technology we have, but shit guys, we're a small community, don't we now each others SN's? i haven't seen the original dev posting, and i haven't seen any new names that i don't recognize (meaning that it could possibly be him, incognito,  :o) between us, we should be able to weed out the 'wolf among the weeds', right? yes i know, he could have his friend, 2nd cousin, aunt of a sister-in-law, cash these info for him, but wouldn't we recognize a name we haven't seen before, with a shit ton of coins, trying to cash in? just a thought.....(fueled by a couple beers, not gonna lie)

been mining since early on, not quite 'day-one' but close enough. Mined on Triple-Hexxx, the official pool, and now Pools of Honor, user CDaugherty82, not gonna hide it. I'm also, not the old dev, just a regular dude from Huntington Beach, CA, who loves Crypto and jumped at the opportunity to mine a coin that supported my home state.

hope we can make this happen guys.

@ bitcad4u

Is the development of the new coin on hold until the conversion old -> new is agreed on?
Are there other problems?
Only asking because the original plan was to start the new coin mid of last week.

A little status where we are beside discussing this conversion issue would be nice.

No wallet download link?

No new dev?

How do we truly know this "OP" isn't the old dev?

The ID thing will never happen. This is crypto and it's famous for being anon.

Nice try but CAC is dead.

Move on.

i've got the original one, it syncs quick. I don't have the original zip file, but not sure if i zip what I have, would work for you and a new installation. i'll test it out, see if i can setup a wallet on a different PC based on what I have. If it works, I'd be happy to send it to you.

Traders are checking atleast the sell orders, order history and ANN thread.
Why would they buy if the old coin is dead (dev gone), the new one isn't out yet (is it still coming?) and conversion conditions are unclear.

I am with you on this.
Let the old dev get his mined coin, he got them fair and square. Just trace the premine so he doesn't change those.

I'm interested in the change, but the previous wallet is not online anymore. :-\

Somebody has a good link to download it?

C-CEX is de-listing this coin.  CoinGather.com will be offering the coin for the foreseeable future.   You must withdrawal your coins from C-CEX before they delisted it, or your coins will be gone.

Got rid of mine a couple of days ago.

First I thoughed to simply trash them, but than ... maybe I can still get some beer out of it.
Checked through the forgotten buy offers from other coins and dumped it into the best offers I could find.  ;D
Dumped again what looked shitty and ended with btc (0.xxx), a few ltc and a little stack of dogde; last one nearly trippled yesterday.  8)

Some people must be wondering now why they suddenly owned lots of CAC and than it got delisted.  :D

Any updates on the progress of the new coin with the new algo? The timeline only went up to Sept. 14 and we're now on the 15th, just kinda wondering. Maybe it's just dead and that's that.

This California coin seems to have long threads.  Hey California friends, hello from New England region.

If some old member of California coin wants to revive this old regional coin, I am offering you an exchange listing at
ShorelineCrypto exchange at very low price, 0.01 BTC or  well below 0.005 BTC equivalent if the payment is paid on NewEnglandcoin (NENG) exclusively. Checkout
our other regional coin listing:
NewEnglandcoin (NENG) :  https://shorelinecrypto.com/market/DOGE-NENG
Quebecoin (QBC): https://shorelinecrypto.com/market/DOGE-QBC

I am aware that there was some dispute on old dev large pre-mine. I am not too worried about that. The old dev is likely long gone and sold out. The
trading price is going to be very low initially and can be low and gradually going higher as trading price and market will re-distribute coins across different supporters.

As long as some old members still have old coins and blockchain to sync wallet, this coin can be reborn.
