What are some things to look forward to in the next couple of months? I would say: international btc payments in overstock and the winklevoss ETF! Thoughts?? Online retailers are great, but I want some brick and mortar stores around my area.

Post by: yayayo on August 24, 2014, 03:20:38 PM I think listing of the ETF will be the most significant event that will have a big impact on awareness (press coverage) and price. Although I think that Bitcoin ETFs as investment vehicles are only a transient phenomenon they will draw in a lot of capital in the beginning. Adoption will continue to increase, but will mostly remain below mainstream radar until blue chip companies like Amazon join (which will need a bit longer than just a few months I think).

The more companies who do, even if they exchange it for fiat right away, the better. After a while, companies will hodl the bitcoin instead of exchanging it for fiat and then the price will jump.

Thoughts?? i would rather it be agreed upon what a bitcoin is worth by the money needed to mine then and what people generally agree on. |
