https://blockchain.info/wallet/iphone-app (https://blockchain.info/wallet/iphone-app) I've installed it, paired it with my existing wallet, and it has said "downloading transactions" ever since. Please report back on your experiences. Title: Re: iPhone IOS Bitcoin wallet is here! Yes, it is available in the official app store, but you have to follow a few extra steps to get it. Detailed instructions are here: https://blockchain.info/wallet/iphone-app (https://blockchain.info/wallet/iphone-app) http://i40.tinypic.com/2s10z08.png Title: Re: iPhone IOS Bitcoin wallet is here! I just want to be sure that the website works for everyone :) EDIT: Ok, it works now :D Title: Re: iPhone IOS Bitcoin wallet is here! I need one feature, I need option to say I wish to send 100 rubles (Russian currency) and app should recalc how much it is in bitcoins. Title: Re: iPhone IOS Bitcoin wallet is here! Title: Re: iPhone IOS Bitcoin wallet is here! (From Blockchain.info) Post by: beckspace on April 06, 2012, 03:48:31 PM Installed and working fine! Very fast pairing. I liked the sound it makes when a block is found.
If I lose my phone I just have to change the passphrase at blockchain.info servers, right? Ok, I tested it (paired and then changed my passphrase at my computer), and it works, but the screen with all my last transactions (the first screen) keeps showing, even if I'm not synced, even if I close and open the app. The other screens are fine (tellng me that I'm not synced). I tried to reset/clean the details (Forget Details) but the button at upper_left went orange with no signs of life. ??? Reinstalled. Very slick design! 8) Created a new account and worked fine. kudos Title: Re: iPhone IOS Bitcoin wallet is here! Regardless, awesome! Finally iOS gets some love! Looking forward to the polished version. Why does it need to download blocks? Is it not a "lite" wallet? Is the blockchain really stored on the iPhone/iPad/iPod? Title: Re: iPhone IOS Bitcoin wallet is here! (From Blockchain.info) Post by: beckspace on April 06, 2012, 04:12:40 PM No, it is just synced. Like the website.

Jalbroke my iPod touch iOS 4.3.3, installed blockchain 1.5 via cydia (author Ben Reeves, right?) It installed fine, but after scanning the qr-code for pairing, it says "downloading wallet" for about 8 seconds, then quits (or at least leaves the screen and I'm in main menu). It's still running (can see in "task manager" when double-clicking button). When firing it up again, same thing: about 8 seconds of "downloading wallet", the close Can I help debug (no, I don't have itunes)? Is my device supported at all? When the device is offline and you generate a new address, this address will most likely be lost. The app doesn't store it locally. Neither does it sync the address to the server later, when network comes back. I tried several times and this truly is the case. see my post here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=40264.msg841810#msg841810 see post(s) above that one for an answer from piuk. Title: Re: iPhone IOS Bitcoin wallet is here! (From Blockchain.info) Post by: molecular on April 09, 2012, 08:05:59 AM ok, I came up with a better reproduction of above-mentioned problem:
I really love this client and I hope piuk can do something to fix this. Here are some ideas:
Title: Re: iPhone IOS Bitcoin wallet is here! (From Blockchain.info) Post by: molecular on April 09, 2012, 01:35:21 PM I'm experiencing a crash when hitting "review payment" button.
reproduction:
when I reopen the app (from "task-manager" that pops up when I double-click the iPods button), it says loading for a short period and then show the transaction overview tab. so I assume the app crashed before, is that correct? anyone else experience that or can indeed send money? Title: Re: iPhone IOS Bitcoin wallet is here! (From Blockchain.info) Post by: piuk on April 09, 2012, 03:15:28 PM I really love this client and I hope piuk can do something to fix this. When you generate an address if you get the following error do not use that address: https://i.imgur.com/4Ya78.png I'm experiencing a crash when hitting "review payment" button. I am unable to reproduce this, please post the crash logs if you can: http://www.ehow.com/how_5965683_see-crash-logs-iphone.html Any idea when we can see V1.6 in the app store, and when it will be available in countries other than Korea? Normally they review updates in ~48 hours, I don't know why they are being so slow. It will be available for all countries when 1.6 is approved. Title: Re: iPhone IOS Bitcoin wallet is here! It took a little (~10s) to sign the transaction (perhaps because I'm using double encryption), but when I hit send it was almost instantly. Title: Re: iPhone IOS Bitcoin wallet is here! I tried sending money again and (after asking if I wished to label and save the address) it goes to some strange shaded mode (light in the middle, darker to the outside, like being lighted by a small spotlight) and just sits there (about 3 minutes now). Looks like you already fixed all the previous bugs I raised so now I have to nitpick :) The little arrow that slides left and right when changing between screens (it indicates which screen is active) the screens change in colour just slightly but the arrow does not. So on two of the screens the arrow does not blend correctly. Not a big issue and certainly not a show stopper. Love the app. Title: Re: iPhone IOS Bitcoin wallet is here! Working offline isn't too useful on a mobile wallet IMHO and you wont have to deal with constant iOS updates. Plus, the wallet would work on every smartphone/tablet, not just apple products. When Jobs debuted the iPhone, web apps are what he was imagining for 3rd parties. Plus now there's the nice "add to homescreen" button so the web app would look a lot like a native app Title: Re: iPhone IOS Bitcoin wallet is here! I scanned a QR code from a payment request off blockchain.info in QRReader, and my phone opened up the blockchain app right away. That's really convenient. Glad to see that the apps integrate well. I think having an unobtrusive donate link next to where you build transactions is a good idea. Armory has the same and it makes it really easy to donate which I think is key. Theoretically it is possible to release source codes for iPhone bitcoin app, but then you need a developer license to install it. More effective method is by distributing it with the beta-testing mechanism, I guess this was restricted to 100 installations or so. And the ultimate solution is to jailbreak your iPhone. However QR-code based web based wallets are entirely possible, and Apple can't restrict people from "installing" them. Title: Re: iPhone IOS Bitcoin wallet is here! Flattr: we’re victims of an ‘app dictatorship’ Quote It’s like a jury that judges you but doesn’t explain why,” he said. “It’s an app dictatorship, or a monopoly. The problem is that we’re centralizing all of our communications… big corporates say they want a free market, but they really want to lock people up. It’s not just Apple: Google is going this way, Facebook is definitely going this way.” - http://gigaom.com/europe/flattr-apple-app-dictatorship/ Duh: Apple doesn’t want Flattr money flowing through its apps if it can’t take a cut Quote This has to do with the fact that using the very disruptive service Flattr, apps can process micro-payments without Apple’s involvement. Basically, Apple isn’t getting a cut of the action. - http://thenextweb.com/apple/2012/05/28/duh-apple-doesnt-want-flattr-money-flowing-through-its-apps-if-it-cant-take-a-cutQuote The following point in their App Store Review Guidelines: There was one clue given, that might be useful as a workaround for this app. 21.2 The collection of donations must be done via a web site in Safari or an SMS - http://blog.flattr.net/2012/05/apple-rejected-flattr-and-its-not-the-end So ya, why not. Have the app create the script and route that out through using SMS. (i.e., the app can function with network connectivity turned off, so you prove the app isn't performing the transaction). Unless that violates the spirit of their policy and they would reject it on that grounds, who knows. I wonder what the difference is though between an app that uses Flattr and an app that uses PayPal, as far as being used to transfer funds from one person to another. Title: Re: iPhone IOS Bitcoin wallet is here! (From Blockchain.info) Post by: Piper67 on May 30, 2012, 02:10:15 PM Sorry if this has already been asked. I'm running the app (Cydia) where I keep some BTC for smallish transactions. However, there's a tiny discrepancy in my balance between the app and the web browser wallet. I sent two deposits from Virwox in the last couple days, and the difference between the balances is .04. Now, I know Virwox charges .02 per withdrawal, so that makes some sense, but even after all the confirmations, the web-based wallet still tells me I have .04 BTC less than the app wallet... it's weird?

Title: Re: iPhone IOS Bitcoin wallet is here! (From Blockchain.info) Post by: matonis on June 11, 2012, 02:22:48 PM Paypal has an Iphone app, and they don't pay Apple a royalty. I don't see why Bitcoin apps wouldn't be allowed when Paypal is. I suspect that Apple is preparing for a proprietary NFC payment app and I doubt that the iPhone/PayPal functionality would be extended to include that. With bitcoin QR code scanning at the point of sale, BTC poses a threat to any planned ApplePayments roll-out, not to mention the fact that BTC is a neutral, nonpolitical currency unit. Title: Re: iPhone IOS Bitcoin wallet is here! (From Blockchain.info) Post by: piuk on June 20, 2012, 07:55:20 AM v1.9.8 now on Cydia
- Scan private keys from paper wallet (or mini private key QR Code) - Faster transaction signing with javascript webworkers (iOS 5 only). - More reliable web socket support (iOS 4.2+). - Logout button - Other bug fixes v1.9.7 is not working for me (3GS iOS v4.21). When i try to send transaction... it breaks... just like it was the case before v1.9.5. The bug fix accidentally got reversed in v1.9.7, it should be fixed again in 1.9.8. Title: Re: iPhone IOS Bitcoin wallet is here! (From Blockchain.info) Post by: minimalB on June 20, 2012, 09:06:40 AM The bug fix accidentally got reversed in v1.9.7, it should be fixed again in 1.9.8. I tried sending few BTCs with 1.9.8 (3GS v4.21). Interface locked up (no window saying "signing inputs 1 of 1" or something like that), after a while there was a beep, and then app froze. After 5 minutes i terminated it manually. Later i found out that transaction was sent anyway! What about manual confirmation? If this is new feature (that you don't have to confirm manually for small values) could you PLEASE make a YES/NO setting in profile page for manual confirmation? Few more things: - going from one page to another is slower again (like it was in 1.9.3) - going to profile page for the first time does nothing (white screen). You have to go elsewhere and then click again on profile page to activate it (like it was in 1.9.3) - still can't access first entry in address book: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=75673.msg900479#msg900479 - local currency is still resetting to U.S. Dollar constantly. Even if i set it to euro... the app still shows $ for currency value. - could you please extend "To:" field in send page, so whole address would be visible? There is no manual confirmation anymore. The idea is as transactions inning usually takes a minute or two you have plenty of time to review and cancel the transaction. If the modal dialog doesn't show then that is a problem, is the problem fixed in 1.9.9? Title: Re: iPhone IOS Bitcoin wallet is here! (From Blockchain.info) Post by: minimalB on June 21, 2012, 11:52:27 PM is the problem fixed in 1.9.9? Unfortunately, no.
