Title: Hashing calculator
Post by: Gluskab on April 09, 2012, 06:52:47 PM
You can use this piece of software to calculate hashing power/cost ratio I will be updating this program frequently to make sure its very accurate
That way you will know how much money to invest for your desired hashing power.

Hmm scammer with small number of posts providing links to unknown binaries.

Plenty of web based claculators.  Installing unknown binaries from an untrusted source generally isn't a good idea.

Yesterday I reported 5 post of some dude who was spreading trojans, today I'll report this one...

Idea for the forum: Mandatory Virustotal links in every binary posted.

Virustotal gives the file hash, so it's easy to verify if it's the same file as the results without even uploading it.

BTW, VirusTotal says this one is clean. But maybe it's just well disguised and probably AV's won't detect anything if it's a plain wallet stealer :D

Just in case... Anubis analysis here: http://anubis.iseclab.org/?action=result&task_id=150e68020e0140b94bdeb5b39fdf36aab&format=html
Notice the screenshot at the bottom where the only thing that file does is a "File is Corrupt" window, which is strangely similar to what trojan installers do... Click 2 times, File is Corrupt, you got owned...

Now wait for the moderator to delete the post

No code, no download!  >:(

This can be done in simple scripts in Excel or Python (if you want a custom GUI + multiplatform)... no need for a binary distribution really, as the calculations are as well trivial and public knowledge.

Sorry, even if your intentions are nice (which I somehow doubt actually) the scammer tag alone makes it very unlikely that people are even trying to open that program of yours.

I'm not sure if this is related, but starting yesterday I been getting a hell of a lot of spam in my inbox with the email I have listed in my bio. For the past couple months since I've put it up, I've received zero spam until yesterday. Now I have about two dozen linking to who knows what.

This post has probably has nothing to do with the author of this thread, but do feel it's relative to the general discussion. My apologies if I'm in error of that assessment.
