Title: 2014-09-01 CoinFinance: Andreas Antonopoulos Changes Roles at Blockchain
Post by: knickerbacher on September 01, 2014, 09:17:55 PM
Andreas Antonopoulos will be leaving his job as Chief Security Officer at Blockchain and will be taking up a role as an advisor to the Board. Andreas was brought into Blockchain as the Chief Security Officer (CSO) in the early days of the companies operation. In just one year, the company has become a multinational business, with the most popular Bitcoin web wallet on the market. Antonopoulos has overseen the security aspect of the company throughout the company’s short, 1-year life. Blockchain posted the announcement that Andreas would be assuming this new, advisory role on their official blog on August 31, 2014.

I remember hearing about certain wallet hacks early on in their infancy so hopefully those are long gone after his excellency fine tuned things. Adoption would be crippled if those started to reoccur.

I see him more in a role of public speaker for BTC than security advisor in my opinion.

But, would want to see him, stay with the currency, and protect the "security" of the BTC users. Lots of people think he is too political and aggresive, but I like the fact that he is so passionate about the matter.

You have to retain people, with the original "goal" in mind, for this to prosper as a "free" currency. If it gets centralized, and over regulated, people will move onto the next thing.  :(
