Hey guys,

I'm trying to underclock the memory on my board on a Linux mining rig, with the aticonfig command.

Everything has been stable so far, but as mining goes, I want to try to make it run better with less heat (don't we all.. and mine more MH/s with less power draw? haha)

Here's what I'm running in my setup script:

sudo aticonfig --odsc=980,600;                                                  
sudo aticonfig --odcc;

And here's what I'm seeing:

             Current Peak :    980           600

It's a headless machine so I don't have AMDOverdriveCtrl, but that software didn't impress me anyways.

So am I still running at 1050Mhz for Memory or is it at 600? Or is it possible my card doesn't support changing the memory speed setting?

The driver/card is your problem, you can only go I believe it is 150mhz below core using 6000 series cards so 830mhz for you otherwise you need to edit BIOS on the card to get lower.

Can you point me towards docs on modifying the BIOS?

Edit: It is a Powercolor 6790 if that helps?

Just search for the Radeon BIOS Editor (RBE) there will be plenty of information where you find it then you would want this link below on creating bootable FreeDOS boot drive to be able to flash.
