Title: **24 hours** fire agate from Aguascalientes, Mexico 2.32cts
Post by: tiptopgemdotcom on April 20, 2012, 01:17:45 PM
This is a very nice example of quality fire agate from Calvillo, Aguascalientes, Mexico.  It shows a botryoidal structure (like a cluster of grapes) and because it is a type of chalcedony it is quite hard at 7.0 on the Moh's scale.  The iridescence is very striking.

This gemstone weighs 2.32 cts and measures 11.19 x 8.92 x 2.86mm deep.

The intricate bands of color make this gemstone one of the most interesting and visually striking stones you might have in your collection.  Because of the great hardness, it is also fine for most any jewelry application and is popular in rings and pendants.

This gemstone is 100% untreated.  It is completely natural.  It was mined in Mexico, cut and polished ONLY.  No heat, no chemicals, no resin or glass or fissure-filling.  No dye, no bleach, nothing but gemstone!

This auction starts at 5BTC and the minimum bid increment is 1BTC.  24 hours only- good luck!
