Hello! i have my own power source and i'm building a mining farm atm, but i have so much spare Power, so i thought i'd throw out a Request, for a small Fee i could let your miners run at my place, the power and cooling would be free,i have lots of free space to cover a BIG ''farm''. Webcams/Various programs will be used so you can monitor the miners 24/7 and control them. all miners would be welcome then since there's nothing to lose on Electricity, so even those 2 G/HS antminers would come to use. i live in sweden Smiley. Nobody will want to risk lending their $5K rig so you can make them $100/month. Why would they lower their prices, when they know, and we know that there's a possibility that Bitcoin will soar again? It's rather a poor assumption on their part - but why would they lower it then when it's a much better promise when some people think that there's still money in GH/s mining? Yes it's based on trust, and he just said he could give someone one address and run it at the other, so yes you can visit him everything checks out and you let him host your 1 million dollar investment and he decides to move to France :P This person needs a better presentation than a bitcointalk.org forum post offering people this type of service. He could be making so much profit if he does have what he claims, which makes it even more illogical because he is offering this generous service that is made to help you instead of capitalizing on the opportunity. Is this % going to be variable dependent upon certain variables? Fixed based on power consumption?
The reason I'm asking these questions is that given the average electricity rate for Sweden according to wikipedia is ~27.1 cents/kw/h (USD). If you do indeed sell your current excess power back to the grid, wouldn't you ultimately be taking a HUGE hit on any sort of profitability? This isn't adding up for me currently. @ BitcoinRuinedMyLife yes Sure, i might need a better presentation, but i'm not aimming to do something HUGE! all i want to do is to offer my services to the community. i never said this service was free tho. why won't i just sell all my power back to the company instead of usling it for miners ? well cuz, i think that one day, all the bitcoins i've earned will be worth so much more then selling back power to the company. The % is not based on power consumption but rather on the Hashrate. @Razerglass, Have you hosted anybodies miner yet? yes i have, some S1 and i currently have some other miners on the way from members here on the forum. so i hopps to get some feedback soon. i even got help with my Broken fan, so now i have a new one, or 3 new ones hehe, will post some weekly uppdates! I'll keep everybody updated in this thread. My miners arrived in Sweden and will be setup today. Sakarias-Corporation is providing a controller, so no need to send a RasPi or something. I asked for a Linux controller instead of a Windows controller and they are willing to set it up for me. So far so good. S-C were very helpful with setting it up and changed some parts of the fan / board arrangement according to my instructions. Probably some of the last original Avalon bitburners that are still hashing these days...

Although with the deal offered by S-C it might make sense to move it there. This is other "old stuff" from a different venture. You may recall the Avalon chip group buys?
Unless you know somebody, the best place to buy is probably the "Goods" section, as people know they can't command ebay prices and haggling is very much possible. What is cheap though? Your location may make things trickier too. No one will give you their own miners to run at your place , if peoples can run at their own place also. |
