Post by: mezmerizer9 on September 16, 2014, 01:18:57 AM
Is there any alt-coin that is worth mining without a rig or a strong pc?

MidasCoin.

Coins are backed by an actual gold reserve, if i had a mining machine I'd be all over that. Check it out at midascoin.io

EDIT: ah, re-read your post and you said w/o a decent rig. try non-POW coins, not really sure about that thou, myb.

You can try switching pools to mine the best coin of the moment and  convert automatically to BTC

If you do not have a rig, then do not buy it for mining only.

A bit of self promotion here.
MonetaryUnit is Quark based (i.e CPU mineable) currently with a very low difficulty, so plenty of opportunity to mine blocks.
I use a single thread of my home PC to mine at idle speed (and serve the network).
Granted, the coin is not yet listed on any exchange, however there are plenty of services in the pipeline, including adding to an exchange in the future, and you would certainly be welcome .
Please have a look at the ANN and see if this is something that may appeal to you.

You could CPU mine Bitcoin and hope that you solve a block, lol.
Nope, there isn't, this is 2014 mining, and not 2008 mining.
By the way, I have no idea why you have the PrimeDice signature, you won't be paid, you know.

Depends what do you mean. If you are searching for a coin to mine and make some real money, then NO. If you want to waste your time and energy, then u can probably find a few.

Even having multiple rigs is not profitable anymore , its Asics game now or buy Alt of your choice directly.

Even if you buy ASIC, there is no ROI as the difficulty increase too fast.

Probably be active more on this forum and watch for those new coins that should be released.
