Bitcoin is a paradigm shift, not a simple learned skill anyway. It will take making Bitcoin very simple and secure even for monkeys to use before most people will be able to.http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hundredth_monkey_effect Title: Re: Everyone wants Bitcoin to be the Hundredth Monkey effect Post by: beckspace on April 30, 2012, 12:48:13 AM Monkeys Use Money to GAMBLE and Buy PROSTITUTES! To do so, Bitcoin needs an IdeaVirus (http://www.fastcompany.com/magazine/37/ideavirus.html). ~Bruno~ Title: Re: Everyone wants Bitcoin to be the Hundredth Monkey effect Post by: cbeast on April 30, 2012, 01:41:09 AM In order for that paradigm shift to be accepted, you need to influence the minds that drive the current model. The name for the effect we want in bitcoin is the network effect. The hundredth monkey effect is a now-discredited report of, essentially, a psychic link between monkeys on physically separated islands. For their to be a hundredth monkey effect with bitcoin there would have to be another planet with no means of communication with this one simultaneously implementing Bitcoin -- literally Bitcoin, not some independently created cryptocurrency.
