hi i was hoping someone could explain what this is and if its worth it :)

You can mine two or more coins simultaneously. Your wallet or the pool have to support it.

Well you can now mine both dogecoin and litecoin at the same time. Thats call merged mining..

it is when you mine a single coin, you will also get other coins.

No, the same hashes are applied to both chains. So its like mining another chain for free.

I just don't get why there isn't a pool operator that has setup something like LTC + all of the merge mine-able coins together. It would mean more money for the same work, everyone wins.

A lot of pool operator has added merge mining, but not every pool add merge mining because its not easy to...
