Title: Is this Alternate cryptocurrencies or the Monero subsection?
Post by: Nullu on September 18, 2014, 03:44:06 PM
I get there's a bit of drama right now, but do we really need so many seperate Monero threads? There's 8 threads on the first page of Alternate cryptocurrencies right now.

A bit much, no?

Nah, every coin should start a new thread here for any given topic imo.

There are multiple topics on price speculation, and two on the whole BCX drama.

Variety is always nice.

It is getting a bit silly with the Monero bullshit threads now and from both pro and anti-coiners bickering and reporting each others posts for trolling or whatnot. I'm also starting to think the Alt coin section needs its own Meta... one where no mods will ever go in or respond to anything :D.

Sounds like mprep is having a terrible workload there with his new task lol. :P

He asked for it, the masochist  :D. I'm sure he'll be fine, though I don't envy him.

I pick option 3. Garbage dump. Which somehow covers both option 1 and option 2.

You have no idea :D.

No pain, no gain ;D. Someone has to do it if we want it somewhat clean and organised. :P

Back on topic, if you see several pretty much identical ("chocalate chip cookies" and "cookies that have chips of chocolate" type) threads, report them linking the oldest one.  Admins and global mods (not sure about globals though) have the ability to merge threads.

If you see similiar threads covering different parts of Monero, such as the community, algorythm, specs, market or new major feature then it's OK.
