Title: Curious about sharedealing on this forum Post by: carcar390 on May 02, 2012, 01:24:54 AM I just joined recently: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=15672.msg878074#msg878074 (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=15672.msg878074#msg878074)
I wish to start selling shares soon so that I can start a (hopefully) successful mining company which uses FPGAS/ASICS while being run in part by renewable energy to meet energy efficiency targets for businesses where I am in the world (the law mandates a certain percentage of renewable energy use by 2020 for businesses like mine) Company info (upcoming-exists but awaits registration for more legitimacy): Name: Club mining (med) Symbol:ClubMSDM Shares to sell:100,000 (50% of the company) as I believe that everyone should have a piece of the company as bitcoin was designed so that anyone can use it. Waiting to be registered by GLBSE (as this can take time without having 8 bitcoins at your disposal to pay that fee) Each share will sell for 0.2 bitcoins as it's just a startup. Type of mining hardware: Predominantly FPGAs as well as a mix of ASICS.GPUs are simply not an option for me due to the cost of energy in my area as well as laws concerning energy efficiency of businesses. I hope this has piqued the interest for some of you. :) Title: Re: Curious about sharedealing on this forum Post by: PatrickHarnett on May 02, 2012, 01:34:17 AM Um,
100,000 shares at 0.2 bitcoin = 20,000 bitcoin. For a start-up, please show how this investment is worth $100,000 to support the valuation of the 50% you are looking at selling. You don't have 8 coins for the registration fee, and therefore I assume you have no equipment and don't know about mining. If you think this is harsh, wait until the trolls arrive. I wouldn't trust you on the basis of what you've put here. Title: Re: Curious about sharedealing on this forum Post by: imsaguy on May 02, 2012, 01:36:18 AM What FPGAs are you planning to use?
Title: Re: Curious about sharedealing on this forum Post by: Kluge on May 02, 2012, 02:01:14 AM Well, first you need to draw up a logo in something like Paint. Then, you need to get your email contract ready. Something like:
I, carcar390, hereby issue 100,000 shares at .2BTC/share for half the equity in my asset-less company. The remaining 50% will be kept as an operator's fee. This email verifies [insert name here] owns [insert number of shares share-buyer purchased] shares of Club Mining (med). It's hard work, but at that point, just put up a BTC address and watch the coins fly in. Here's a good logo to get you started: https://i.imgur.com/uBXLx.jpg Title: Re: Curious about sharedealing on this forum Post by: BurtW on May 02, 2012, 03:04:22 PM Asking for 20,000 BTC in just two posts. I would agree with the sentiment that you would need to start much smaller, have a long-term plan laid out and scale to it, while building trust and confidence along the way. I wonder if I could approach a bank with such a small business plan? My experience raising funds for ventures is that this requires 12-month forecast financials, risk assessment and mitigation and demonstrable knowledge. Wonder what ASICs he's going to use?
