Best altcoin to invest into in 2014 and 2015

There are many factors to consider.

Perhaps one of the most important things to realize,

is that investors have different styles or ways of investing.

Some investors like to invest more into higher speculation things,
with higher risks,
but with very high returns if they luck out.

Other investors prefer less speculation or less risks,
and want more certainty when they invest,
but tend to get lower percentages of gain if there is any gain.

But I think that investing into cryptocoins is almost always higher speculation
therefore higher risks are associated with investing into cryptocoins,
but there is chances of high percentage gains.

But people need to buy low.

Some coins that are already selling at higher prices, may be less likely
to get huge increases from.

Other coins that are selling for less currently, are more likely
to be the kinds of buys for investors who are looking for
10x, 100x, 1000x, or 3000x their money.

In general, if you want to get the highest gains, then you may need to take
higher risks.
Coins that are already high priced will have a hard time getting 10x or 100x
out of.

But recently there hasn't been that many investors buying the lowest priced
coins, thereby creating investing opportunities for people who
really want the huge gains.

Investing at times of pessimism in a coin, or even at maximum pessimism,
may be the ways to get those huge gains, but its a gamble and I cannot say
for sure which coins will go up the most.
In general the current market tends to be driven by just a few large
investors, and who knows what they are going to invest into?

But if you invest into a coin that is currently very cheap,
and if you know how to turn that coin around and make it more popular and/or
fix some of the problems, then it may not be as much of a risk then.

I tend not to buy coins that are at all-time highs or even what seems to be
the most popular coins, partly because I believe alot of that is just
market manipulations of a relatively few people in crypto.

Whereas, I would look for the coin that is being disregarded, and that has
a good name for marketing, and with lots of upside potential if things
turn around for the coin, and that is where the 1000x or more might come from
more likely.
But it might not happen right away, but look down the road a few years,
and consider that at some time during that 3 year period the price may
go up considerably, for many different reasons

Smartcoin SMC is like that right now( at the time of this writing Smartcoin is trading at about 112 satoshi with only 24.5 million all time coins, and is one of the lowest priced coins, but I would look for that to change over time as things improve for smartcoin).

To be honest with you, I do not know what a 'neos' is.
If you read the OP, I mentioned coins that have good names that are low priced currently,
and with lots of upside potential.
At least some of the upside potential is because of having a good name for the coin.

Almost all the 'new' technical 'innovations' for coins are less important than the good name of the coin,
but I believe most of the current market has been manipulated by just a few market participants
who are currently willing to spend large amounts of money to prop their coins up on false tech stuff that means little or
nothing to me.

The fact remains that people will use the coin they prefer to use, and I prefer simplicity more than complexity,
and I don't need gadgets inside the wallet which create backdoor opportunities for thieves and such.

You can find it on the same page 1. The name of the thread is "Best Alt coin to invest in 2014  New « 1 2 ... 81 82 »"

You just want to give us here a second field where everybody can talk about the best coin. Your thread seems to be dispensable.

And what kinds of coins did the OP of that thread like to invest into in 2014?

This thread is about 2014 and 2015.

I mentioned in the OP above, that there are different styles of investors,

and the OP of that thread likely has different style than myself.

But the thing is, that there is diversity amongst investors, and some people will agree with what I said,
and others may agree with that other poster.

Its really up to the individual investor.

I remember going to a stockbroker back before the internet was popular,
and I remember the stockbroker would categorize me according to my investing style.

The thread you are mentioning, the OP is asking a question.

In this thread, I am not asking a question, but you notice the exclamation mark?

I made a statement, whereas the other poster asked a question.

Two different threads.

Now, can we discuss this thread now. But if you want to discuss that other thread, why not go post there?

You dont know for Neos??
 ;D

I mentioned in the OP above, about coins with good names.
I do not immediately know what a 'neos' is.
I do not immediately consider it to be a good name for a coin.
therefore I am not likely to even look at that coin.
Explain to me, what is a 'neos' ? See, I would have to look it up, and I did a brief search(not to dictionairies)
and I found a bunch of different links to diverse companies and stuff, and still don't know what
you mean by calling a coin 'neos' ... What is the point of naming it neos?

In fact, some of the more 'popular' coins nowadays, I never would even look at in the first place,
because I believe they blew it from the start, by chosing names for the coin that I was not interested in,
and I did not think the coin was all that marketable with that name.
I prefer coins with names that are marketable. If they can't even get that right, then forget it.

doge, dark, bitcoindark etc... are not good names for coins, and not all that marketable,
but some people just forced their wills on lousy named coins, and had large amounts of money to
prop up the price and illogical miners who don't care about the name of a coin then got involved.
I consider the current altcoin scene to be a temporary thing.
The word 'doge' is an incorrect spelling of the word 'dog', and most people do not want to use a dog coin to begin with.
Dark was named 'x' coin at first, and xcoin is a really good name for a coin, but went and changed the name to darkcoin and blew it from my perspective.
bitcoindark is a combination of two names for this coin, and its too long, so no go.

Smartcoin, the word 'Smart' is already a popular word indicating a form of wisdom but incomplete wisdom,
but the thing is there is a large Smart market to advertise to, so I consider it a good marketing name for a coin.

Darkcoin is not a good name for a coin.
Its one of the coins that is too high priced and won't likely get the huger percentage increases.

Its a matter of preference though, and there are different types of investors out there

The anonymous coins are only a niche, and that niche may get rejected by the larger
market which may be coming to crypto. They may reject most anonymous coins because of percieved or real criminals involved with those coins or criminal activities.

But as I was saying, there are different styles of investors who may like the higher priced coins.

Did any of you people even read the OP of this thread? Seems to me you are all off-topic,
but trying to use this thread to advertise the high-priced coins that I mentioned I don't usually buy or never buy.

And I mentioned that if you buy a low priced coin and then know how to turn it around and make it more popular then
that is a less risky investment and may get much bigger percentage gains than high priced coins.

Looking at your posts is useless to try to convince you about anything. You don't look for a discussion in this thread. You just want to promote "your" SmartCoin. Good luck and have fun with your "smart" investments. And don't invest in bad named coins (DRK, NEOS, etc). Leave them to us, we'll take profit from them, don't worry.

Do you want a good named coin? EMC2.

Is it good enough for you? Underpriced as well. Anyway, no devs support it but, hey, it's a cool name.

PS: BTW, DarkCoin sounds miles better than XCoin, English native speaker or not...

Those coins were/are too high priced, for investors who want to speculate and perhaps
get 1000x to 3000x their money.

Smartcoin is still really low, and is low enough and with lots of upside potential,
and could go up alot.

If smartcoin went up to be equal to darkcoin price, how much of an increase would that be?

So you base part of your investments on the name of the coin?

Ok, Neos means new.

And no smartcoin is a horrible name for a coin, you have to be kidding here?

"I don't even look into the coin if the name isnt good"

I can say this, you are NOT making money trading. I can state that with some confidence.

So let me help you out here a bit. Stop focusing on the name so much. Yes, its a factor, but you are basing to much weight on it. Really, you are.

Now, I DO profit from trading, a lot.

I have clients that pay me for advice and pay me to trade for them.

I do this full time. It is all I do.

What is interesting is you did touch on something that is very good. Looking for a coin that is undervalued, and purchasing it and waiting for the market to adjust accordingly.

Neos is one of the most undervalued coins there is right now. So here is some free advice.

Neos has a marketcap of around 150,000.

It has a ton of room for realistic growth. It will easily hit a 1M marketcap, so with so few Neos being mined per week, this will make the price skyrocket.

The price has already gone up over 100% in the last few days, and this is only the beginning.

V2 is being released today, and with it the price will go up dramatically.

OR maybe you think all the senior members that are supporting this coin are just nuts? I don't think so. Look for hefty gains.

NXT,NEM,XMR and NODE maybe.

I think some of the posters on this thread are mixed up and don't understand what this thread is about.

Those coins are likely higher priced coins, perhaps more profitable currently to mine,

but generally not as much upside for investors.

But with higher priced coins, usually there is more competition to mine those coins as well,
so that decreases the amount of profit from mining the high priced coins.

I mentioned low priced coins, and what I meant, was low priced coins,

relative to the other altcoins.

Whereas most of the people posting in this thread so far, have been mentioning the higher priced coins,
relative to the other altcoins.
Those higher priced coins are not usually good investments, but sometimes there might be some increase.
We saw that with bitcoindark when it went from 50,000 satoshi(which I thought was too high),
to where it is at now.( I don't like the name bitcoindark either)

If we were discussing prices relative to the price of bitcoin, then all the altcoins are low priced right now,
but some are lower priced than others.

I am partial to smartcoin, and out of all the coins at cryptsy, I chose smartcoin to invest into,
and to become involved with.
Smartcoin has the low price I was looking for,
the name which helps when advertising,
a dev,
and just needed to fix up a little bit of a mess is all,
and after that the price should rebound,
certainly over a 2-3 year time period, but I expect it to be faster than that.
I think smartcoin would be too low priced at 10x its current price.

I am thinking that smartcoin will someday be 1000 times higher or more.

I cannot guarantee it, but for investors(not miners) who want to try and speculate
to try and earn 1000-3000 times the investment, I would chose smartcoin currently.

At a thousand times current price, smartcoin would just be over 100,000 satoshi,
which I believe is do-able and will likely occur, but I
think that is still too low.

But its by making smartcoin into a currency with an economy, that this will happen.

The current altcoin market is actually very strange.
You would have had to be here last year in order to see that I guess.
Maybe you were not around last year?

It has been proven in the past, that a good name for a coin, can help the coin alot.
Different people have different ways of investing though.

Maybe you prefer names of coins that others do not like?
Perhaps you don't put that much weight on the name of the coin?
Have you ever done any advertising or tried to sell anything in your life?
A well named coin should be an easier sell to the wider internet population,
and if you only look at just the crypto-persons that is not a good measurement
of the rest of the people, but crypto hasn't really become mainstream yet,
but if/when it does, the well named coins will tend to do better than poorly named coins.

That is just a general rule, but not always correct.
There are other factors, such as rich people who fixate on poorly named coins,
and try to magnify other things while they spend millions propping up garbage coin.

Best altcoin to invest into in 2014 and 2015

Mooncoin (MOON):
https://www.cryptsy.com/markets/view/145

You can buy VERY low at the moment - with an upward trend.

I do like the name of Mooncoin,
but honestly, there are alot of coins.
Compare the total number of coins of Mooncoin to the total number of coins of Smartcoin.

Smartcoin only has 24.5 million coins all time.
How many coins does Mooncoin have, and what price per coin now?( I will look later but busy now)

Neos fans, that is your choice to invest into neos, but
you know this thread is about low priced alt-coins relative to other altcoin,
and I am mainly focused on coins that trade at cryptsy for now.

Its not really a good thread to try and advertise high priced altcoins relative to other altcoins.
There are other threads for doing that.

I consider smartcoin to be on a similar level with Quarkcoin prior to quarkcoin going up 3000x.
That is the kind of investment I was looking for.
that is what I am talking about.

But I am mainly concerned with trying to do what I can to help smartcoin to have an economy and become
a useful currency.

I think I am giving a hot-tip, about smartcoin, especially for people who see what I am saying,
buy up at these low prices, and have ways to increase the value and help smartcoin become a useful currency

Just check the price out. You'll be surprised, most probably, that it rose from 3/4 Litoshi up to 15 yesterday in the last weeks (now back at ~11).
Regarding people talking of "too much coins", I like this posting: http://www.reddit.com/r/Bitcoin/comments/2gyt85/people_are_turned_off_to_buying_bitcoin_because/

Edit:
Prices taken from https://www.cryptsy.com/markets/view/145

Edit 2:
Keep in mind, that Mooncoin once was chasing DOGE, with a price of ~30 SAToshi and market cap of ~4.5mn USD:

NXT,NEM,XMR and NODE maybe.

I agree
that coins called second generation will do well in 2015

Relative to other altcoins, are those ones low priced now?

See, when I was researching what coin to buy,

I looked at lots of coins at cryptsy, but I was specifically looking for THE COIN that
I thought might go up like quarkcoin went up.

Smartcoin fit better with that, than any of the other coins, by my estimation.
But we will have to wait and see.
I also prefer POW coins.( but if it changed to pos, that is not in my control)

Quarkcoin was perhaps the number one best altcoin to buy in 2013, if you bought it at or near its low,
and got 3000 or more your investment.

If smartcoin goes up 1000-3000x in 2014(not much time left in 2014) or 2015(this seems more possible),
then smartcoin will be a contender for the highest percentage increase from its low price...

YOu cannot win the lottery unless you buy tickets.

You will not get 1000x unless you buy some smartcoins.

But that is not my main reason for being involved with smartcoin.
I want to help in what way I can to help smartcoin become a useful currency.

But because Smartcoin is so low priced right now, therefore its like buying a lottery ticket,
considering how much it might go up. That is what I think.

I cannot guarantee any gains though, and investing into crypto-coins can be risky and people may lose money

That is the case for all of the low-price coins. But: no risk, no funk.  ;)

My favorite is Blackcoin (http://www.blackcoin.co/ (http://www.blackcoin.co/)). After a short phase of POW it now supports only POS with a yearly 1% incentive. And it looks like the very cool guys from Blackcoin (http://youtu.be/9dEwb8F7Jbo (http://youtu.be/9dEwb8F7Jbo))  do lots of marketing. Thirdly it seems that BC is on the step from non relevance to relevance.

What is so special about Stealthcoin XST? This:

* Amazing dev team

* Amazing community

* Amazing and revolutionary technology to send coins anonymously. Stealthtext isn't a encrypted chat or just a encrypted sms message.
Stealthtext is a way to send stealthcoins anonymously hidden by a encrypted text sms message that in case of interception the only thing that appears is that is sending a encrypted text
For now only for android but soon if I want to send stealthcoin to other person and all I have is a dumbphone with Java and SMS text messages, I will can send it anonymously and then be thrown the dumbphone in the trash after the payment!

* Audicted and aproved by Dan Metcalf

* Cryptonote without blockchain bloat using revolutionary chandran signatures

* Crypto Certify

* +5 PODs

* Openbazaar platform based on stealthsend (december)

* Still very undervalued. When xst start being used as money in openbazaar and stealthmarkets around the world its value will explode.

If you didn't mention 'smartcoin' in every single post then some (but probably not many) people might be fooled into thinking this thread was started for a discussion and not a transparent attempt of you desperately trying to off load your bag of useless coins on to some poor unexpecting noon!

If you want to keep this discussion going then drop the smartcoin promoting! Too dam obvious! And for what it's worth you want a low priced coin capable of huge gains! Go check AERO

True, the biggest coin of 2015 might not have been released, or created yet.

CGB is a very decent coin with ongoing developments. As one of the older coins it's doing great and it's very affordable at current rates.
