Does anyone has the announcement thread for Reddit coin / the coin they are going to use for this ?

I don't see the point to this. Why does Reddit need to invent a new cryptocurrency. Are they too good for Bitcoin?

They already have Reddit gold which worked awesome for them. They are going to use Bitcoin protocol as in any case that is perfect for them.

Will be good if it helps further popularize crypto currencies in general.
I don't think that is going to happen though. Most reddit users will be already exposed to the idea of bitcoin and crypto currencies, even if they don't use them actively.

whatever happens to the coin but one thing is sure that Reddit will be making good money out of this .
