Looks to me to be just another Innosilicon ("Dragon") clone.

All A1 based miners will look very similar because there's only going to be one optimal way of designing things.

hah, that's one way of looking at it.. Another might be that Innosilicon provided a reference design to their chip sale customers - which has been duplicated en masse. These boards aren't just similar - they're identical.

As always excellent review. I will note the same as MrPark. The company should be avoided. Their hardware is deceptively advertised at rates higher than the hardware actually goes. The webUI reports inaccurately 1.27 all the time regardless of the pool rate despite the other numbers being refreshed. Leads me to think its a false hashrate. I don't see this with any other miner product. It's just another case of smoke and mirrors with Joshua Zipkin deceiving people. Also should be noted that ssh access is possible BUT sadly they don't provide that info or they lie about the logins. It required some hacking the image to actually get SSH working properly in my case.

FYI the SAME model is reported on their site as 1.3Ths. So again more lies from this company. AVOID!! Oh and according to them, I am their official support contact. I am not. They passed the buck off to me. And I am trying to get Joshua Zipkin arrested for putting my family in danger. That should speak volumes about the company itself. Considering he thought it was a terrible idea to send a review unit initially to dogie, find it hilarious he took my idea and ran with it. I will post the chat log later where that comes up ;)

I'm running a newer firmware version then the screenshots above and it does actually change values, and it does achieve higher hash rates. I do believe there are enough chips to achieve 1.25TH and its just bad firmware which is failing to achieve that hash rate. We had to go through several versions just to get one that would find the modules. Unfortunately though, he doesn't seem to have been around for a while and I had to publish as it had been too long.

I too finally got my miner. Despite assurances from Joshua Zipkin in MY Skype chat room (I'm customer2 there) that mine was one of ones shipping *with* a psu, it of course arrived without one...

On mine all 3 fans had their wires cut leaving about a 1" stub from the fans. Long 3-wire cables were connected to the stubs and ran to the controller board, plugged in there and hot glued as well. Those turbine fans are definite pulls from salvaged servers.

Mine as well was filthy and obviously ran for more than 'a few days and the rooms are really dusty' as Josh replied when I pressed him about it. Josh, remember that I build industrial equipment? I have gear in places from clean rooms to absolutely horrid metal foundry conditions. I know dirt buildup rates.  Not only the fans and insides of the case covered in fine dust but even on the ends of the heatsinks in back where vortexes form had long term build up. As in growths about 2mm thick...

Since my miner arrived without a psu I had time to kill until one arrived (a week later - I got Lucky!) so cleaned it up and replaced all 3 fans with ones from Bgear. Also added a cover directly over the top of the row of hash board heat sinks to channel all airflow from the fans through/over the heatsinks. Works quite well.

I will say kudos on the heatsinks: Both the main bottom ones and the top sinks are 1st rate and well done, even have tapered fins with further tiny fins on them for great efficiency. Beats the hell out of the massive bulk-extruded ones from the 1st try versions.. Then again, Innosilicon had plenty of time to observe the screwups from Bitmine.ch/AMT and a couple other companies betting on the A1 chip as they floundered with a horrible thermal and PD layout. Inno saw the obvious flaws with the original thermal and power layouts and Got It Right. Yes, they then released the new and IMHO far superior board design for folks to make boards and miner using their chips.

Hashrate reported on the web gui is always 1.2th. Never ever changes like my Ants do. However - again I got Lucky: My pool consistently reports 980ghs-1.2ths as the swing and pretty much a solid hair over 1th as average.

Damn - should have gone to the Casino that week... Actually finally got a miner from AMT (6 months late), actually got a psu from them for it, it runs per-spec speed and, after cleaning out the dirt it looks pretty rad with the Bgear fans...

can you post the firmware for download?

+1 Josh decided to cut off all support to users (and pass it to me where i have no real capacity or desire to do his job for him)

The last known contact with Joshua Zipkin of AMT Miners by us in the Skype chat room was August 24 and he left the room Friday Aug 29, 2014 @ 2:50pm after the chats were made public.

These chips will do significantly better, but manufacturers push them up to this rage because then you get 2x+ more $ for the same chip costs. If the firmware was good (and the board design allowed it), you would have the choice to run @ 1TH ~ 1KW or 600GH @ ~350W.

Chrooting into the image from the SDCard on a linux system will allow for the SSH password to be changed. I have not messed with it yet. But it might explain why AMT seemed to give a bunch of incorrect logins for SSH that did not work.

Seems like Joshua Zipkin knows he is hiding that info otherwise why disallow ssh access?

As a former customer myself, I would STRONGLY urge you to stay away. AMT is already advertising these same exact miners on their site as 1.3Ths when they don't actually perform that way. And there will be no support as Joshua Zipkin has publicly made that matter clear in their second closed official thread. Not to mention that he has no technical skills. He farms the work out to other people, calls it a day after sales.

Read up on AMT hell do a google search you will see it is not worth buying from them. Spend your money with bitmain instead. They do great support and are responsive if there is a problem with your hardware. There are plenty of horror stories from AMT here on these forums.

Firmware does allow clock switching but I've only tested as low as 1TH. Don't know on price.

Why did this reviewer get a nice shiny one, and your all your customers got used pieces of dusty garbage? I was sent a miner, but the fans were used and do not work properly. The cards run extremely hot up to 67 degrees, so basically too hot to run the miner and not safe to use. There have also been reports of the cards failing. You tell me us to email sales@amtminers.com but no one replies. Can you please send me 3 new fans? This is the least you can do to get started on the right track. Ignoring your current customers is probably why you are not selling many miners.

If there is any law enforcement reading this thread, I have been sent 2 sabotaged miners by this company. The first one smashed to pieces with a hammer with non-working cards and the second with wires cut and used parts, missing power supply and all boards unplugged (ironically they did the same thing to me with the first one) ,Please contact me for all the evidence.

Again, here is the photo of the mis-matched used fans (also have wires cut) "they" sent me.  It seems there was no one checking the factory in China these were made in. Very poor service, please make a step in the right direction. It is not worth it for me to spend more money on all new fans, I already lost so much with AMT_Miners.

Here is the photo of the cut wire coming from the green fan, making the green fan only a 2 pin fan and therefor making it spin much slower. I guess I made this up too?

Good try, but customers got machines with no power supplies, cut wires, and wrong type of fans.

I thought this was an unlocked thread for discussion/reviews, and I was adding an actual customer review. I am not accusing him, it is just the one that he has posted is very different than the one sent me by AMT_miners. I will not post anymore.

Hello, another disappointed/angry AMT "customer." I use the term customer loosely as it's more they took my money sat on it for about 7 months and sent me a miner worth about $300 bucks. I'm a bit of a stickler for customer service as I have a management background in it, but even by most peoples standards they would fail with flying colors. I've never worked with such a rude company when it comes to fixing a problem they've caused. Beyond the rudeness, which honestly I can get over, they never fixed any of the issue. They were responsive on the phone and through e-mail in the beginning, probably until they took enough orders by their standards at which point communication stopped cold. Their phone number switched to a voice mail black hole that no message could escape from to reach their ears.

Josh had told me in a skype chat they were working with inno directly after the bitmine route burned them in the ass. Josh initiated this chat under the belief I was a crypto-security expert programmer, just that guy and I shared the same name.  My belief was he was looking to get me to do some work for him finding a away to stop his poor reputation from growing. But he never outlined what he would have wanted me to do. He did proposition opeium2 in regards to hacking bitcointalk to remove negative inf. It seems Josh has never heard the story about the effectiveness fly hunting using honey as a bait. My guess is he still manages to catch plenty of files though as he is a shitbag. He also detailed to me how in the future he plans to burn Phinneous Gage/Gelb/Bruno's house down after the heat dies down because he would be an obvious suspect.

My miner came with the dusty ass fans, no written guidance what so ever, missing the cabling that was promised and completely lacking a PSU. I've still never received a psu. I used PSU I had on hand from when he tried to send me one of the IMET produced miners they built. Unfortunately that one was running so hot the fucking heat sinks were falling off.

Oh yeah before I forget you probably shouldn't buy from AMT.

i bought a miner from AMT to the tune of $5959. almost 12 months later i still have NOTHING. If you order from AMT after reading all the information out there on Joshua Zipkin you deserve to lose your money just like I did. He is a second rate con artist that will lie about hash rates, delivery times and refunds - anything to get you to wire him that money. He talked a great game but when it comes to following through he is an abject failure.

Please take the time to Google the owner's name, Joshua Zipkin. Don't take my word for it. Do your research and please don't be scammed like we were.

This is what the FTC is saying about BFL:

Change the word Monarch to  1.2 TH/s AMT Miner and is reads exactly like what AMT did to it's customers. Funny, that.

Do you know where I can get firmware for a AMT 1.25TH/s 4U? Reason is I'm not able to change the pool or stop the miner ex.. I lost the home, and setup link at the top. Thanks
