Post by: wobber on October 05, 2014, 12:30:39 PM
If you have any idea of starting a small bitcoin business but lack finances or expertise to build it, post its and let's discuss. Maybe we can start something.

Profit and work is split 50-50.

Bitcoin Android application programming site with automated orders.

I've got the Java knowledge but I'm clueless with PHP.

If you think it's a good idea, I'll formally pitch my idea to you in a PM.

Currently i am operating a gaming / crypto forum (IPB) however, I noticed that there are pieces of software that I wanted to purchase, one being IP Nexus and the other being IP Download, with both and a crypto gateway, I could basically open up a digital/crypto marketplace. The total cost would be around $200ish mark and I am willing to let you keep 100% of the profits until you double your initial investment (We can probably sell exclusive advertisements within the marketplace). ~ Afterwards, I will probably make the whole marketplace free or as close to free as possible. I figured it something we can talk about, if not, i will probably implement all myself after my next Adsense payment.

Just a simple suggestion. A site to 'kickstart' bitcoin related business; what you are doing now. Just like kickstarter or indiegogo.

There already is bitcoinstarter.com :)
Though no one really gets funded there. Honestly I believe the typical bitcoin users are too paranoid
and profit-hungry to actually fund as much as others do like in Indiegogo or Kickstarter

More of a service website. Registers orders, takes details, receives payment, then notifies me of the new order for me to begin programming.

if i understood it correctly you can buy at www.bitstamp.net and sell at www.portbitcoin.com with profit.

  • Current situation for buying 1 btc:
    price at www.bitstamp.net : $318.93
    fee: 0.44% = $1.7
    total: $317.23

  • Current situation for selling1 btc:
    price at www.portbitcoin.com : $328.95
    fee: $1
    bonus code BITRIP293 boost: 5% = $16.4
    total: $342.35

Total profit = $25.12

I believe i did the right math. This seems to be a good way to start trading with profit.

It's a little too much for me right now. I mean, risk is kind high to pump that much money without meeting the owner. I have no idea if we can make contracts and anything, so I'm looking for trust and small amounts.

I was thinking that you could continue to focus on the market area, while I would migrate towards other niches. I was already testing some examples, and we could do setup a social media campaign ontop of the crypto structure. So a user could sell his digital work for crypto OR choose to accept a tweet / facebook like / google +.

There is a lot of room to grow, but again, I am a programmer with limited time, however I am sure we can work something out.

I've been working on an idea for a gaming site where people could play, and post challenges in bitcoin.  So wager a certain amount, and if someone wants to accept the challenge they can try to beat it, and the best score wins.  Could also have head to head gaming where you can wager in btc.  Could also have prizes for high scores daily/weekly.  Site would probably get most money from ad revenue.

I have a question for everyone that would be interested to start up something:

What is the best approach to team up, given the fact is very hard to meet face to face? I am interested how we can trust each other and what kind of system we could set up so none of us could run away with the business, it's assets or profits?

I think the best way is for a Skype identity verification. Possibly the person shows you his I.D. After that, you fax him over an agreement. You make sure though that you pay him in fiat instead of bitcoin. It makes a big difference in court.

Since it's also a join venture, you state in your contract with your partner the plan.

You sue.

And if someone runs off with the coins, they are gone no matter how much verification / how close you know them. Also regardless of a court order. In the document just specify that you are agreeing to say $5,000, and that $5,000 is equivalent to "x" amount of BTC. In the event of a party breaking the deal / falling through they are required to pay the other party "x" amount of $fiat instead of BTC.

Well in relation to my venture... you would still have rights over the script at first and dont have to transfer them over until after your at least recoup.

As for funding, in relation to the market, we can keep that in a coinbase vault and have a multi sig option, with devthedev as an escrow? Maybe a 2 out of 3 system?

Again, there is still a lot of room for this to grow :P

I dedicated some full days to look on the Project Development subforum. My impressions so far:

There are lots of talented people that can do amazing stuff.  Saw many ideas that haven't got the chance to go more than a draft. Guys, a failed idea is one that is not implemented! If you have the skills to do something, try it! You don't need much money to start and you shouldn't invest much at the beginning.

Unless, you guys are willing to meet face to face, be it on skype, and know much about each other, there is always a risk. Maybe, once the business starts making money, then you can split the income, there and then. This way, even if someone backs out, the losses are less.

This. With Internet of Coins we made sure to meet every dev in person, even the ones participating from another country. If you want to prevent someone from running off with investments, take a look at Swarm. Thought they offered a service similar to Kickstarter (no delivery = no payout).

About the income... we simply agreed with the team members one of the founders maintains control of funding and performs payouts. So far we have no complaints, especially now that we have Bitalo on board for support. Being transparent while cooperating is most important.

What about a fully functioning freelancing site like elance.com or freelancer.com that only accepts bitcoin.
The main cons of these Fiat based freelancing site is that their charge is very high which is more than 15%(includes flat charge + transaction fee charged by paypal or similar system + currency conversion) of the total cost.
If the same system is done in bitcoin based payment, it can reduce to below 10% or below(depends on how much you wanna charge them).

I see it has a bright future. Its like when Freelancers work for 100 usd than Through Bitcoin based freelancing site gets 95 usd where as in elance/freelancer sites its around 80-85 usd. Thats a huge difference.

We have experience on this :)

PM me if you want to talk more about this, We can work on this.
