Title: A short graphical novel on the subject of Bitcoin Mining Post by: Amisād on May 14, 2011, 09:41:02 PM I drew this in Inkscape with my Bamboo tablet (which I hadn't used in years) earlier today. There should be more strips/comics about Bitcoin in general, I think. Especially bitter ones. It's a real comedy goldmine (no pun intended). Criticism is expected and welcome.

Who's bitter? Looks like sour grapes to me. Title: Re: A short graphical novel on the subject of Bitcoin Mining Post by: rezin777 on May 14, 2011, 10:02:34 PM That was fun, thanks! ;D
Note to self: Destroy all chairs and rope. Title: Re: A short graphical novel on the subject of Bitcoin Mining Post by: Amisād on May 14, 2011, 10:08:12 PM "The Bitcoin Hangings" are surely going to make the headlines... I already see it coming! This also means more mainstream media coverage for Bitcoin, hopefully attracting more businesses and greedy speculators who will support the economical growth of the currency.
Also, I believe that he used ethernet cables instead of rope to pull this off. Be sure to use CAT6 ones, CAT5e simply doesn't cut it anymore. Title: Re: A short graphical novel on the subject of Bitcoin Mining Post by: Ryland R. Taylor-Almanza on May 14, 2011, 10:19:17 PM Lol. I've never mined before, but I can indirectly relate to these struggles through what I've heard real miners talk about.

Title: Re: A short graphical novel on the subject of Bitcoin Mining Post by: grondilu on May 15, 2011, 12:52:01 AM Mining is an investment. There are risks because there are costs and no guarantee that the income will cover the costs.
Miners should always keep in mind that mining is a race between all miners. And everyone can not be a winner. Title: Re: A short graphical novel on the subject of Bitcoin Mining Post by: Amisād on May 15, 2011, 01:01:52 AM Few weeks ago i built my first mining rig (2x5870). LOL. Yes, that's right, this comic is about you! Incidentally that's the same setup I ordered, which is why I used it in that case. Welcome to the ethernet hanging club. Title: Re: A short graphical novel on the subject of Bitcoin Mining Post by: Drifter on May 18, 2011, 01:51:26 PM Cool comic, but why did you have to have the punchline/ending as your avatar :(. Knew what was coming all along.

Title: Re: A short graphical novel on the subject of Bitcoin Mining Post by: Gatorhex on December 26, 2012, 08:33:52 PM Yeah that's about what many people find
"Wow, I made over $900 in one month!" should have been followed with.. "WTF! $800 power bill. Gonna take a year just to pay for equipment" ;) Title: Re: A short graphical novel on the subject of Bitcoin Mining Post by: crazyates on December 26, 2012, 09:04:46 PM Yeah that's about what many people find "Wow, I made over $900 in one month!" should have been followed with.. "WTF! $800 power bill. Gonna take a year just to pay for equipment" ;) When the difficulty was under 2 million or the price was >$20, mining was a lot more profitable than it was today. "WTF! $800 power bill. Gonna take a year just to pay for equipment" ;) Honestly guys 10% return per month is smoking with a capital S In finance a return of 30-40% PA is regarded as a fraud..so BTC getting ~90% PA is golden 8) Title: Re: A short graphical novel on the subject of Bitcoin Mining Post by: bcbigbud420 on December 28, 2012, 07:10:53 AM Awesome comic lol ;D
Title: Re: A short graphical novel on the subject of Bitcoin Mining Post by: muyuu on January 03, 2013, 02:47:18 AM Heh had a good chuckle with that. Thanks.
It's been months since entering GPU mining started being a crazy idea. I've been trying to warn people but a lot were very determined. Since about September it was already completely out of the question for the average person doing a significant investment. Title: Re: A short graphical novel on the subject of Bitcoin Mining Post by: btcash on January 09, 2013, 01:29:05 AM Gave me a good laugh :)
Looking forward to see more from you. Title: Re: A short graphical novel on the subject of Bitcoin Mining Post by: Lethn on January 13, 2013, 04:21:55 AM lolz I can't stress enough that Bitcoin mining now should be seen as a way of transferring your wealth and getting Bitcoins for the hell of it rather than actually trying to make money.

Title: Re: A short graphical novel on the subject of Bitcoin Mining Post by: SgtSpike on January 23, 2013, 05:57:56 PM Good stuff!
However, I started about 2 weeks before this comic, and over the course of my GPU mining career, made over $5,000 on a $1,100 investment over the course of a year. In the FPGA realm, I made over $2,500 on a $6,000 investment in 2 months. Waiting for the ASIC realm, but I expect it to be quite profitable for me as well. :) |
