I get this error message once in a while: "Sorry a nice guy, you are banned from posting or sending personal messages on this forum. Trolling 12" Sometimes it stays there for 10 minutes and sometimes it's gone when I reload the page. I only see that message when I'm really banned. And if your "ban" only lasts for 10 minutes you're lucky. Often when I ban a user, I ban all of the IPs they've used.

I understand that when banning IPs it may not be obvious that it is a tor IP, but a script could regularly clear these. Best to either whitelist all tor ips or blacklist all tor ips. A mixed policy(intended or incidental) regarding tor will only hit random people. Wich means everytime i restart the router i get a new IP? Banning the IP i have used would be not only epic useless, but harmful because some other will end up using them. So basically by IP banning you only harm other people. Oh and yes, Europe exists. USA is not the only country in the world! As far as I know, no that is not a reason for being banned. It's just that if your account is banned, both those IPs will be banned. |
