Back when I was in high school in the mid 70's, "We're entering the next ice age." was all the rage. But later, after a few years of a warming trend, some vice president had the neat idea of starting an exchange to trade carbon emissions, thus a heavy polluter in some Eastern European factor can trade his shares to some Amish dude in Ohio having a lesser pollution footprint. Climate, if it changes at all, evolves so slowly that the difference cannot be seen in a human lifetime. Summer snows fell in Sweden and a city in Saxony experienced its coldest temperature on record. Is it just Europe that is dramatically turning colder, because of a slowing Atlantic current or the entire world?
