For technically minded people: "Read the whitepaper, then decide for yourself."
For other people: "Listen to the Canadian Senate hearing with Andreas M. Antonopolous, then decide for yourself."

Only invest what you're willingly able to lose.

Edit: In other words, don't take money from savings, don't take a loan out against your house, etc.

For other people: "Listen to the Canadian Senate hearing with Andreas M. Antonopolous, then decide for yourself."

Problem with this is many coins actually have well written white-papers.  The challenge is then to weed through that and decide what is potentially real, and what is just vaporware.

Buy one today and leave it there in your paper wallet. In 20 years, it'll be your retirement money or your children's college fund.

Start investing NOW while the price is still somewhat low.

That's the problem, since the price is low there are not a lot of investment opportunities.

Well this is the sort of thinking that will never change the situation. We need to be investive enough.

There is a huge potential in bitcoin technology. Invest wisely by setting aside some money for investment but never take unnecessary risk by putting all your hard earned savings. Only invest in amount that you can afford to lose.

Yeah we have learnt it the hard way, but people still make this kind mistakes. otherwise those crashes of exchanges wouldn't affect them much.
