Title: Would you trust me?
Post by: wobber on November 07, 2014, 09:50:07 PM
Simple question:

Would you trust me to send me 0.1 BTC if I'd say I'd pay it back immediately to the address that sent it?

Post 'Yes' or 'No', and if you feel brave, send 0.1 BTC and see what happens.

No. Because the account could have been hacked or sold.

Who is on your account?

Same old me. I don't actually need 0.1 BTC, but trying to see if random people would even think of sending anything to a stranger.

Why? Are you looking for some sort of self-validation?

I will send you not 0.1 as is too much for my btc stash.
I can send you 0.01, because I trust you and I think you would not ruin the trust of a legendary account for so little money. For me 0.01 is not so little.
do you want 0.01? :)

Same old me.
It's easy to claim something. I could claim that I'm the flying spaghettimonster which deserves 100000 BTC just now for granting everybody a peaceful life in paradise after death.

He could sell his account for a lot more btc, or organizze a better scam. He's going to get negative trust if he scam me, so it's not convenient to him.

He's not an anonymous user of the blockchain, he is a forum user. If the account was stolen, he could sell it for way more than 0.1 btc, IF green/neutral trust, or organize a better scam...he even seems to have a good english!

I renew my offer of 0.01 (0.1 is too much of my stash).... If he don't pay, we both gonna take a huge loss. Game theory says he should pay.

But if you go to the user profile and click on Trust, you should be able to see feedback, right? A couple days ago, I saw a positive feedback, whereas now, there's nothing at all

Then someone has removed it whoever put it there in the first place afaik trust on the profile is global and can be seen anywhere even by non members there was a website which had all the trust ratings of every single member on this forum & keeps backups.

Don't trust someone based off their rank. Trusting them based off their trust ratings is more reliable, although even that's not foolproof. It's up to your own discretion, but be cautionary

Woah! No feedback received... That's very interesting for a person who is legendary, registered back in 2010.
No feedback sent either... This guy doesn't seem like a trader of any sort, so why is he asking for BTC0.1 for a test?

Double back lol. I think the main purpose of this thread is for the OP to gain more trust feedback.
He probably realised as well that it's pretty peculiar to have a lengendary account with no trust feedback sent, or received.  ;D

This thread is very off-topic.  ;)
Anyways if you send him BTC0.1 for testing, even if he sends back all the funds, you are still losing out on a little bit of bitcoins, considering you are paying the appropriate miner fee.
