Title: New to mining and looking for some info!
Post by: varialcc on November 08, 2014, 07:42:54 PM
Hi,

I am very new to mining and just have a simple question.

If you are using an AntMiner, do you also need to use mining software like cgminer or BFGMiner?

Thanks in advance.

Matt

U wont reach the ROI by buying hardware and mining at home. Hardware mining from home is now a story of past. Better buy GHs from professional miners offering cloud mining service. U might like to try the one in my signature below.

I think antminer comes with a mining software installed you have provide pool credentials and begin hashing.

Thanks for the replies.

First - this isn't about mining at home, its just informational.

@LuckyBtc - I did see that an AntMiner comes with its own software but then were do you put the wallet info?

Thanks

It looks like this:

You enter the name of the pool and your username (that you choose during registration) and that's it. Your private address is entered in your user's profile.

Ok - so the user profile is with the Pool that you signed up with?  Is that correct?

Thanks

It would depend on which antminer you use.  For example S3's you do enter pool data and it does not need a computer after initial setup.

I think the best move is to get cloud mining currently. If you mine yourself the miner's gunna produce a lot of noise and unnecessary sounds.
Also you have to maintain the rigs yourself.

Well, you don't need to download any additional mining software because antminer already comes with it. You just need to setup the pool you want to mine and don't forget to set failover pool just in-case the first pool is down.

this time to mine bitcoin requires no small cost, but it is also the mining bitcoin mining alone makes the cost of treatment is very expensive, plus the cost of electricity to be paid to mine bitcoin, I suggest that you change your mine into a cloud of mining so that the the relatively low cost you will get large amounts of bitcoin, besides that you do not require maintenance costs, simply by investing in a number of bitcoin Ghs or KHS, then you will get a bitcoin even while you are asleep ...  ::)

There are a lot of factors affecting ROI, if they decide to delay shipment, you would have less chances of getting ROI. You need to have good cooling equipments and space, if the difficulty increases very fast, the chances of you ROI would be reduced.

Of course you really need the software to run your miner. It is up to you to choose which one will you use. Try reading the feedbacks of different users in different users and try what fits your needs. Be advised though that mining nowadays isn't very profitable compared to the earlier years. Having said that, try considering in buying some coins instead of using your miner to mine coins and use a lot of electricity. Good luck mate. Hope your mining journey be successful. :D
