Title: [ANN] Coinhills : Enjoy All the Prices in One Place
Post by: coinhills on November 10, 2014, 11:27:17 AM

** CSPA Index Service Started : Nov. 11, 2015

We started CSPA Index service for digital currencies price average.
From now on, The BTC/USD average price displayed at the Coinhills front page has been changed its name as CSPA:BTC.
This index is representing the 'Coinhills Spot Price Average' Index.

https://www.coinhills.com/images/notice/cspa-index-announce.jpg (https://www.coinhills.com/cspa/)

It is calculated by the data gathered from various digital currency exchanges globally.
When the data arrived, every price is converted to USD counter value and it is weighted by the 24 hour trade volume of each market.
And then all those are combined as one global average value. For a long time, we had hard time to make it stable and reliable.
Currently, over 80 global digital currency exchanges are registered at Coinhills.

Your data about BTC exchanges volume ranking is wrong. For you are counting volumes of Net Settlement and Future Trading for bitFlyer. As you can see the correct data on another web site for Japanese, https://jpbitcoin.com/markets, the volume of bitFlyer is 2nd in Japan, not so big as your data shows. Please fix it by removing the volumes.

We've just fed their volume from the API Bitflyer providing. we'll try to check the issue and inquire it to Bitflyer soon as possible. If any correction or changes, let you know here. Thanks for the report!!!

It seems you are using a wrong key, "volume", for volume. "volume_by_product" is the right one. "volume" includes all volumes of BTC-related boards. Sometimes people used your wrong data for pumping/dumping in Japan. It really sucks.

https://api.bitflyer.jp/v1/getticker
volume: 174115.6117972,

We have corrected the issue now. I admit that we used wrong data. we're very disappointed with Bitflyer we're contacting with. they recognized it but did not try to let us know... Anyway, It's definitely our mistake. Sorry for the misleading data. Thanks much for your pointing out the problem, emmettoc.

Interesting site. I had never heard of this before now (which is weird, considering its age). That said, it has a lot more data than what I've been using (BitcoinWisdom), which is awesome.

What's your criteria for adding new currencies to the tracker?

Hello ranlo!

Actually, we don't have any serious condition to add new coins. usually users requested us to add their own or their interested new cryptos and markets. also we're regularly monitoring markets to add the populars which widely circulating. To say the minimum conditions are that it has to have public announcement in public forum like bitcointalk and its own official website describing the clear info. However, in reality, even if the coin developer discontinues maintenance or even the official website is closed, the coin is being traded. In this case, we have to continue to maintain its market info for users. I wonder if this is the answer you want... Thanks!

Hello emmettoc again!

We're having claim from Bitflyer. they said that coincheck also contains their margin volume on their ticker feed.
Now, I'll ask about it to several major exchange whether their volume contains only spot or not. ( I guess that every exchange might contain margin also. )
Then I'll revise our rank page data with description. It will take some time...

Thanks..

It seems that they just want to advertise their exchange. The fee for Margin/Future trade there has been zero, so bots can increase the volume as they want just as Chinese exchanges did before. Still useless data. No more comments. Bye.

Yes, you're right. and I know and may people are knowing about this issue.
I’ve been researching several exchanges until now, every exchange which has margin trade, shows the 24h volume including their margin trading.

If we have enough power to force them to provide separate information, we did. but we couldn’t.
Not only Chinese exchanges, but also other exchanges of other countries treat the volume info as like that.

We have no other way but to display those information in the same way, equally, and judging whether they are abusing is one of the facts that users are supposed to consider… If it turns out true that they’re dealing fake data. they will lose their credibility…

I’ll also do not comment about this issue any more.

Thanks for your comment to help people knowing and thinking about it!
