Title: Antminer C1 liquid cooled by chevrolet :) Post by: bbxx on November 10, 2014, 12:01:11 PM Hi
I just finished my project, big home heater. 2x antminer C1 (2.31 btc + 120$ fees ~ 870$) 6 meters pipe 10mm (6$) circulation pump 28W 0.7m3/h (70$) chevrolet cooler with fan (from scrap, 20$) cooper joints, spliters (50$) 2 PSU, 1200gold from dragon and 1300W rosewill platinum (from scrapped miners) I connected fan from PSU using 5V molex. Fan is not loud :) This setup allows to heat whole floor (50m2) with 24 celsius. Great for winter. I am very happy :) comments welcome https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K_gCnvsM-QY http://i61.tinypic.com/kaqxwy.jpg http://i60.tinypic.com/25f3odk.jpg http://i62.tinypic.com/2rdbzah.jpg Title: Re: Antminer C1 liquid cooled by chevrolet :) Post by: OnkelPaul on November 10, 2014, 12:28:06 PM The cooler looks like it could need some cleaning... I would certainly not operate it in a living area.
Apart from that, it's a "cool" project! Also, I hope you didn't mix metals. Aluminium + copper = bad in a loop.
Aside from that, that looks awesome! How cool are the miners running? No doubt that radiator can handle the heat :D Title: Re: Antminer C1 liquid cooled by chevrolet :) Post by: spazzdla on November 10, 2014, 02:26:13 PM Okay that is pretty darn cool.
Title: Re: Antminer C1 liquid cooled by chevrolet :) Post by: EvilPanda on November 10, 2014, 02:32:36 PM I noticed you left some air in the loop, that's bad for the pump. You need a reservoir to trap the air. The fastest way to make one would be to take a jar, punch 2 holes in the lid and add to the loop before the pump.

Not that you need it. Title: Re: Antminer C1 liquid cooled by chevrolet :) Post by: aztecminer on November 10, 2014, 08:16:38 PM i am pretty sure i am getting close to have seen it all in the crypto mining world.

They'll mine for me! Thanks for the idea Title: Re: Antminer C1 liquid cooled by chevrolet :) Post by: elasticband on November 11, 2014, 10:28:26 AM really nice work, well done!
so right now i am sitting with a 1kw fan heater and i am paying 0.25euro cent per kw/hr for this. what miner will make a good cost effective heater...... nothing too loud :) main purpose is foot warming while at desk. Or rockminer Title: Re: Antminer C1 liquid cooled by chevrolet :) Post by: chek2fire on November 12, 2014, 12:31:42 AM great job! gz! :)

Title: Re: Antminer C1 liquid cooled by chevrolet :) Post by: notlist3d on November 15, 2014, 08:12:06 PM Don't know on efficiency but cool level is a 10! Nicely done.
Maybe make it variable speed and use a car gas pedal :) Title: Re: Antminer C1 liquid cooled by chevrolet :) Post by: VulgusMan on November 17, 2014, 11:06:40 AM NAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!
never seen something like this before!!! fantastic!!! I think the water pump consume more tham ASIC miners!!! ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D Title: Re: Antminer C1 liquid cooled by chevrolet :) Post by: bbxx on November 17, 2014, 03:09:55 PM The radiator could use some cleaning and it doesn't look stable on that chair. Good job anyway! the radiator was in bath within whole day i should clean this up though :) it does not look stable but it is :) i got 32 celsius in that room today (outside 9 celsius) :) Title: Re: Antminer C1 liquid cooled by chevrolet :) Post by: VulgusMan on November 17, 2014, 06:48:10 PM The radiator could use some cleaning and it doesn't look stable on that chair. Title: Re: Antminer C1 liquid cooled by chevrolet :) Post by: sidehack on November 18, 2014, 04:12:57 PM Miner furnace FTW - just brought my Dragon home to keep the living room warm last night. I need to put up pics of my radiator loop (HashFast + Habanero) sometime when I get it back to working; it's a cheap eBay radiator, nothing legit with actual road grime. Smexy setup, sir.

Or rockminer You don't want a Prisma for a footwarmer. They're pretty loud and also ever so slightly a fire hazard. I can attest that the Gardens are pretty quiet. |
