Title: Selling some GPUs
Post by: AmpEater on June 15, 2012, 05:56:45 PM
I've got a bunch of GPUs I'd like to sell.

18x Sapphire 5830 - 1btc each
2x Sapphire 6950 - 1.5btc each
6x Gigabyte 6950 - 1.5btc each
1x Gigabyte 6990 - 4btc

I'm open to offers as the price is changing rapidly right now.

I will be parting out mobos, PSU, SSDs, etc soon too if anyone wants a package.

Out of curiosity, Benz, how much do you currently have out in loans to pay for the hardware you have? Either USD or BTC? Seems like you're always maxing out your "loan guy" to buy more GPUs.

be careful you don't get too big too fast and pull a shakaru.....

Having any debt makes me nervous, I can't imagine what it's like to start a massive operation with no capital.

---

how does the hashing power of the 5830s compare to the 6950s/6990s? I may be interested in buying some of these for other purposes than mining.

100% understandable.

---

5830 will get you 280mhash at 840/300  -- which is safe.
6950 will get you 375mhash at 900/310 -- which is safe.

Both use about 200 watts power each, some one please correct me if I am wrong.

You can get better marks, but then your card life will not last as long.  And being it's used to begin with, bet safe - run slower.

My business partner and I are interested in the ENTIRE setup.

Are you in any position to do loans to TWO (or three) different members ALL being responsible to make payments to you?

While I appreciate the offer, I'm not really interested in any sort of loan/financing deal.  I'm in a position to buy enough solar panels at an amazing price that I'll never need to buy electricity again (even with my appetite for amps)...so I'm restructuring my mining operation to use far less power (FPGA/ASIC with custom DC-DC MPPT is likely).  And the best part is the seller wants bitcoins!

I'm in upstate NY.

Best of luck on your solar venture!

This is why I was asking. I can understand being ambitious in trying to expand your farm (with all of those advantages going for you), but I'm just not a huge fan of putting yourself into massive debt, with the hope of paying it all off someday.

Are the Gigabyte 6950s unlockable?
I believe so, but you have to remove the cooler and do some SMT soldering.

i'll pay 65 btc for all

Thats about the equal $per hash that a new asic is going for from BFL not including power differences.

1)    BitForce SC Jalapeno: a USB powered coffee warmer providing 3.5 GH/s, priced at under $149

with 65 btc you can almost buy 3 of those!

You have to be kidding me. 65 BTC for all of the GPUs? That's less than the listed price for one 6990! At least offer something similar to what these GPUs are going for in the used market. Assuming $80 for each 5830, which is cheap enough already, and not even counting all the others, one can far surpass the amount that you offered.

Nobody knows yet when the Butterfly Labs' ASIC designs will be in production, and how long they will take to get to the consumer. Plus, there's no particular guarantee that those numbers will stay the way they are now.

Multi-Purpose and Common GPU DOES NOT EQUAL Single-Purpose ASIC (that may or may not exist, and will take at least a few months to get into use).

You're right, these should be 65BTC to match the new ASICs. BTW, could you post the link where I can order those with FedEx overnight? I want to get mining with my new ASICs next week.

I do not represent BFL, so you may want to contact them about that.

I am only offering the value of the hash for what it will soon be worth.

If it is not about the 10GH/s that your selling, then why list it.

Hello,

I am from India. I am interested in picking up 4 x 5830. I was looking at getting international PRIORITY shipping via DHL. i do not have enough bitcoins with me, but I can buy it on ebay or something. I am trying to source bitcoins here on the forum, if I can get that, then I shall buy it off in bitcoins itself.

Can you please find the price for DHL priority 3 day shipping cost to India for four 5830's and what the whole thing would cost in BTC. I am hoping to pay around 12 BTC per card + shipping.

thanks

I love how they say "the bitter end" lolol

Because ONE guy in the world has ONE knockout deal on some SUPER expensive solar power units ... that means GPU mining is at its bitter end.

Media is so fucked lol

Cost of electricity to run the GPUs? About half of what they generate. I negotiated a bulk deal and locked in my rate for a year with a 3rd party energy supplier.

Article? I was never contacted for permission to use my photo, or for any info on my operation. Sounds like some grade A bullshit to me. Not to mention that this sale doesn't even represent the bulk of my hashing power. Sigh....people....

Question about how I run my rigs - here is one cluster with the lian li trays in open air racks.
