Asics will fail hard.

FPGAs destroyed, ASICs will fail hard, GPUs too inefficient....so what's left ? CPU Mining FTW ! Title: Re: Admins can close this subforum Post by: Garr255 on June 16, 2012, 08:38:51 AM I think we should just do all transactions by hand, and train pigeons to broadcast them. It might not be the most efficient way in terms of mh/j, but hey, better than no Bitcoin, eh?

Title: Re: Admins can close this subforum Post by: bitlane on June 16, 2012, 10:03:10 AM I read somewhere that THIS ASIC gets 10 TH/s....unfortunately it doesn't warm your Coffey, but rather it warms 'the kitty'...

BEST POST EVER ! Thanks for the laughs man. You are EPIC ! Title: Re: Admins can close this subforum Post by: norulezapply on June 17, 2012, 01:42:23 PM Well, because FPGAs are simply destroyed. Hey,we can get Mike Tyson to be our spokesperson then ;D Title: Re: Admins can close this subforum Post by: rjk on June 18, 2012, 07:37:10 PM Well, because FPGAs are simply destroyed. Title: Re: Admins can close this subforum Post by: ice_chill on June 18, 2012, 07:59:49 PM What if the Code changes, then the ASIC will be destroyed :) FPGA is more universal thus the higher price. ASIC = very high risk.
Title: Re: Admins can close this subforum Post by: crazyates on June 18, 2012, 08:02:31 PM What if the Code changes, then the ASIC will be destroyed :) FPGA is more universal thus the higher price. ASIC = very high risk. People keep talking about this. The code hasn't changed so far, so why do people keep thinking it will? Protocol changes can be made without affecting the ASIC, but as long as it's based on SHA256, nothing is going to come along and "destroy" and ASIC's viability for mining. Title: Re: Admins can close this subforum Post by: Garr255 on June 19, 2012, 05:01:08 AM We shouldn't have a dedicated ASIC subforum yet, because it would be almost entirely FUD ::)
