Title: [WTS] video cards w/ huge aftermarket coolers - gauging interest
Post by: KIDC on June 22, 2012, 02:18:06 AM
Hi all. I have three video cards I'm looking to sell.

1 x 5850
1 x 7970
1 x 6950 (unlocked to 6970, I may keep this one for myself for gaming)

All three are reference designs with huge aftermarket heatsinks on them. The 5850 has a Zalman VF3000 on it and the other two have Arctic Cooling Accelero Xtreme Plus'es on them.  They're way quieter than the stock fans but the extra size of the assembly makes them three slot cards. Currently I'm trying to find out if people would be interested in buying these. With my migration to FPGA/ASIC I don't really need them for anything else (barely have time to even game these days) and would like to get them sold. I'm also concerned about how I can ship them safely without damaging the cards or heatsinks. Does anybody have any suggestions? I guess if anybody is here with me on the Florida Space Coast then a possible in-person meet might be possible.

Any feedback would be appreciated. Please keep in mind that this is not the official sale thread. I'll make a new post for when I actually sell them with specific model numbers and other information.

Thanks for reading,
KIDC

Most (if not all) graphics cards fit in USPS flatrate boxes. They ship priority and are pretty reasonably priced. Just make sure you use an anti-static bag for each graphics card. I got a 5870 in the mail today that was packaged with just bubblewrap and plastic bags... Needless to say there was noticeable static build up when I opened the package and the card was dead. :(
