Wow, I don't know where to start with this one, since you clearly lack any understanding of how these rigs work.

First of all, this woman is testing FPGA boards. Since the vast majority of those boards worked just fine, I'd say she's done her job fairly successfully. Even entire QA teams fail to spot every single dud product.

Secondly, the issue with Giga's rig was with the PSU, which should have been tested by Thermaltake (who, by the way, do have an entire QA team).

Hereforth, we can deduce that BFL's QA tester has done her job better in this instance than Thermaltake's (presumably young male) QA tester.

I sincerely doubt that.

I've been tearing apart and repairing computers and electronics for 15 years and I've never once fried anything due to static. I've tried intentionally to fry things with static, to no avail. My brother did fry his ethernet port on his laptop due to static, but that's not exactly a situation you'd expect to use a wrist band anyway.

IMO you have been lucky, or probably you are situated in a high humidity region. It's akin to not wearing seat belts and claiming one has been accident free.

Depends on the room and the Relative humidity..... I remember having to spray water on the floor in our old computer room... people would drag their feet in and touch the keyhole.... Pow.. goes the PC :P actually most times it would just restart.... on a few occassions the PC would not start again.

This, I used to work in a laptop repair facility (not one of those shady fly-by-night operations btw).

Every week we had thousands of units come in for us to repair and the QA ladies were all grandmothers and I could not have been more impressed with their performance. I was constantly getting units back that I had repaired that had other "issues" (cracked hinges, broken speakers, etc etc) with them that I had not noticed during my own inspection and I count myself a pretty observant individual.

Old ladies work hard.... Why hire some young dude that's going to be stepping outside to burn a joint every hour :P

Plus, old ladies on retirement are cheap as hell. Four dollars under the table n they are ready to get to work on the production line.

ESD doesn't have to be felt to occur and cause damage, surprisingly humans aren't a very sensitive discharge detection device.

Also, old ladies in assembly positions have experience and good attention to detail (as long as they have the proper tools to correct for any vision problems). This makes them well suited for frontline QA roles.

He hasn't been around for weeks, but I have yet to hear of anyone who's loaned to him complain, so I'm hoping he's still legit, just with a different username (maybe thru email?).

His account was banned. (He still needs to pay back his lenders, of course.)

Would the mods mind moving this thread somewhere else...  or changing it's title.  Discussion of some random persons fraud in a thread about our company might be misleading to people who don't take the time to sort through all the details.
