BTC38 enables bitCNY deposit - bitCNY now backed by BTC38!
When you deposit bitcny to us, you'll get CNY in your balance.
1000bitcny = 1005 cny
At the start time. each user can only deposit less than 5,000bitcny. total limit is 100,000bitcny at one day.

This is one huge news which has gone relatively unnoticed. Kudos to Btc38 for taking this step; maybe in future they will allow customers to hold BitCNY too and trade directly in the CNY markets, with the added benefit of earning interest on their BitCNYs.

Nice. Now we need to get more bitassets like this!

User Issued Asset Upgrades

1) You can now specify a required transaction fee (payable in user issued asset) once per transaction that withdraws that asset type.
2) You can now have multi-sig issuers/control over an asset
3) You can now have child asset symbols like child accounts to facilitate trust in a common issuer of related assets.
4) Issuers can now optionally retain complete control over all balances in their asset. (Freeze accounts, etc) Needed for legal compliance.
5) Issuers can now optionally white list public keys that may own/trade the issued asset.

With these powers Gateways can comply with all regulations just like with Ripple.  Companies can issue shares while remaining in full compliance with the law.

Really? You provide a thread from AUGUST to prove the peg is not "working as intended"?? BitAssets were launched in August!

The peg has been working perfectly ever since price feeds were introduced to the system. And I'm not sure where you're getting that BTS is modified Ripple...? BTS is like Ripple, but a hell of a lot more decentralized, and that's it.

BitShares was built by Invictus Innovations from the ground up minus library dependencies. How could downloading a ripple client prove your claim anyways? That doesn't make sense at all. Try comparing the sources instead:

Market pegged assets are unique to BitShares.  There's overlapping functionality with other features such as user issued assets, but unique features for those are coming soon to BitShares too.

Bytemaster makes a case for funding development through dilution/delegate fee instead of pre-sales in his latest blog post (http://bytemaster.bitshares.org/article/2014/12/26/Stop-the-Crowd-Sales-Long-Live-Crowd-Funding/).

Bitshares initially raised funding through donations through a company and had to tackle a lot of topics ranging from legal to tax issues. The funding method now which have been implemented, delegate pay, is an elegant way to do it.
