Title: Charity Auction - Unobtanium silver and gold plated bars/cold wallets
Post by: bigtimespaghetti on December 18, 2014, 11:33:59 AM
In an attempt to make some seriously hard-up families or family's year a little more endurable I am auctioning 3 of my test strikes from my Unobtanium Silver Wallet bars (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=825537.0). Proof will be posted as to where the money went.

My ultimate aim is to raise a little money to at least make one family's Christmas a little easier and more enjoyable. Having grown up in a very poor area I know how much difference just a little can make. Let's make an effort to help those afflicted by disease or worse provide a memorable and less stressful time for their children.

  • One of them is a one-of-a-kind gold plated strike. (numbered 06)

One is a nickel plated strike (numbered 21)

One is a silver plated strike (numbered 22)

Beware that these are test strikes and as such have a little wear.

Winners will be provided some generic security stickers and labels along with a single 00 numbered Uno security hologram.

Let's spread some light and help some people out!

To clarify, I will convert the final payments into dollars or whatever myself and send PayPal or Giftcards to the families.

Minimum bids start at 0.1BTC bids in 0.01 increments.

Please state the bar/s you are bidding on in posts too.

Auction will end on the 23rd of December 12am GMT. (Maybe a bit earlier depending on the families needs).

Postage will be covered by me.

Thanks for looking and I hope that you take part :)

Best of luck on a worthy cause.

I'm assuming these are all the non-solid silver versions?

Since there is a bid already, I decided to shoot over a gift card to the first family I know of, which I imagine is helpful with the Christmas rush. The circumstances are questionable, but this is for the kids rather than the mother who had a family member steal from her (verified her identity myself). The name and email is blacked out to protect her identity.

I am travelling back home for Christmas and will attempt to help a family in my home village with any remaining proceeds, which I will supplement myself too if it is only a small amount left over.

Hey guys,

Sorry for not closing it up on time. I had personal issues (my car's suspension went and blew up one of my tires!).

I'll officially close the auction now and contact the highest bidders on each of the bars.

thanks to the guys that took part. I will make sure that the money goes to a good place, though it may be hard to prove the second donation to a local family.

Proceeds have been donated to The Ferry Project, a charity in Wisbech close to my heart, in England that takes in vulnerable young adults and attempts to rehabilitate and or provide a safe environment for young people.

Also there was a delay sending the bars: the stickers were locked in my office! I'll be posting them tomorrow afternoon.

Thanks again to the participants.
