Guessing development for improved cgminer etc has been dropped for this miner as on site it seems their is no updated firmware in a long time.

Hi,

We are pouring all resources to develop and maintain S2, S3, S3+, S4, S5 and new products, have stopped updating S1 firmware.

You can update the S1 cgminer by following the instructions here (https://github.com/kanoi/cgminer-binaries/tree/master/AntS1).

Still I think they should be continued develop meant to some stage where things get updated once in a while as it would be ok for an update once every 3 to 6 months not to pull everything. You should consider it given the fact of how many people bought the S1s and then upgraded.

Tried following the guide just now on one of my s1 miners seems it dont want to update the cgminer follwoed everything on instructions however after power cycle and restart does not change cgminer after doing wget install etc

Fair enough seeing the S1 has been, for a while now, know to have been EOL'd by bitmain, however, could you at least release / update the BM1380 datasheet to include the details that are available in the BM1382 datasheet, aka
1. The Typical hash rate and power table
2. The Work Input timing table

And if at all feasible without divulging your trade secrets, the functions available at chip level to set voltage, freq etc. This would enable intrested party further developement rather than having to depend on the goodwill of the cgminer crew. Believe it or not, there are still a number of S1's out there and despite bitmain having discontinued the line, we still use these machines.
