Title: vTorrent - VOTING - Should we keep the block reward or reduce it to lower size
Post by: yumei on December 28, 2014, 12:48:49 PM
I talked to vTorrent and he pleased me to start a poll about how to continue with vTorrent.

1. Keep it as it is ( No changes at all )
2. Decreasing mining block size to 10 ( There won´t be any change on the amount of POW ever created coins, but they will be created in a much larger timespan, like 10 years instead of ~ 30 days actually )
3. Going fully POS   (Going fully POS right now, which means rigorous changes at all)

This was my suggestion on vTorrent thread, so I will vote for block size 10.

Imho we need a hard-fork as fast as possible to reduce the amount of vtorrents being mined per block.

Actually vTorrent is being abused from miners doing just a mine and dump game who surely give a fuck about vTorrent concept at all.
We just should decrease the amounts of coins mined per block to someting like 10.
1. It will stabilise the price,
2. It will stay attractiv for miners on long-term and not only for the small period of mining proposed actually.
3. It will not change anything on the concept because the total number of coins being distributed won´t change.

Also, leave a comment why you want any of those options.

Block reward of 10 would stop the sell pressure.

Fully ack!

Just because starting this pool someone bought 50.000 worth of vTorrent on bittrex.

As mentioned Scrypt miners want one thing fast and that's a return.. You can't stop the dumpers in the current state of crypto's . I have to say I do believe in this project and the growth of this coin just start showing some progress. I would keep it as is.

If you go fully pos there will be no miners needed at all.
This would have the additional benefit of decreasing the total money supply, as a result, the price would go up significantly. Would it stabilize? Probably not on the first high, but most likely higher than it is right now.
Then it would start to go down unless there's development progress. Just my 2 cents.

(didn't vote as I'm not an investor/miner (yet))
