Title: Stolen phone and Mycelium
Post by: Ibian on December 31, 2014, 03:39:46 PM
I just had my phone stolen. It has 0.5 BTC in a mycelium wallet. I have the seed, but no immediate ability to buy a new phone. Is there any way to access my coins on a regular computer?

They have a tool to help you use the backup on your PC:

Looks like that's for the old format?

Downloading an android emulator now, hopefully that works.

For Derivation Path choose "Trezor k'th account i'th keypair (receive): m/44'/0'/k'/0/i"

and then also "Trezor k'th account i'th keypair (change): m/44'/0'/k'/1/i"
(the second one will contain your change addresses.)

1. You can download the entire site from https://github.com/bip32JP/bip32JP.github.io/archive/master.zip if you want.
(besure to open the index.html file inside the english folder.)
2. discover each address by selecting the Derivation Paths I mentioned above, and change the Keypair Index (i) one at a time, copy the "Address" at the bottom, and check the balance at blockchain.info etc.
3. Gather the Private Key (WIF) from the ones that had balances, and import them into any desktop wallet.
4. VERY IMPORTANT. NEVER USE THAT BACKUP PHRASE AGAIN! The theif might have knowledge of it now, so once you get a new phone, generate a new one.

use an emulator to restore your funds, maybe move your funds to a fresh paperwallet or fresh seed.

None of the emulators worked. Mostly because they wanted phone verification.

But this did. Money recovered to a temp wallet and sent to one of my regular wallets. Thanks everyone.

Use GenyMotion Emulator from genymotion.com.
100% no phone verification needed, works on Mac and Windows.

Also consider in future http://receive-sms-online.com/ and similar services for SMS verifications.

Is the Mycelium on the "other phone" the latest version? HD is only available since October. https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=814907.0

If it is the HD version see the point: "How do I restore a backup?" in that thread. It works on fresh installs only it seems.

Which browser did you run that utility in?
