Title: Amagi Metals Customer Experience..
Post by: xboxsold on January 15, 2015, 07:29:27 PM
I was looking to purchase silver and came across a website called Amagi Metals. I have never purchased from them before but it looked like a good reputable website. I ordered 100oz silver at what i thought was a good price using my credit card. Thank goodness i did not use bitcoin because this company is full of excuses for shipping delays.
I placed my order Dec 15 2014. I was in no particular hurry but after Dec 25 I called to find the status, I was told it would be shipped 1 week from today. I said OK . When nothing showed up as of Jan 15 2015 i called again and was told it would be shipped today .. OK then but wait.. later that evening i got a call from Jillian , Operations Manager and WOW  was I blown away , she took a adversarial position with me right away. Telling me i was mis-informed and my order was not shipping today that it wouldn't ship for another week , and if i was not happy about that i could get a refund on my order but have to pay a $20.00 administration fee.. or i could do a dispute with the credit card company.. WOW that's no way to run a company..

I wanted to do my part on informing the public of my experience and what i believe is a outrageous way to run a business..

Over 1 month to ship something out on something that's relatively volatile is just unacceptable. What was their excuse?

The odd thing is they didnt really offer a excise. That was what was so strange.. I first thought i was being politely led on like if a company was ready to go out of business just politely trying to delay me so they can gather up the assets and run. But then i thought no way im safe.. I used a credit card so if they dont ship i have recourse. So i was willing to wait.. But when i got the call from Jullian ( come to find out its a small family business that started on ebay) i realized that either she was the owners wife or daughter.. So whatever she said was coming from the top. I think this is just the way they do business as i am a new customer and have no ax to grind. Im just saying i love bitcoin big time but when it comes to BAD COMPANY'S then Credit Cards do offer safety.. Im glad i didnt pay with Bitcoin then i would be screwed..

Not really the point, other (potential)customers probably want to know why it took you a month to ship 100oz of silver?

What a typical canned response. You don't wait until the complaint surface to public before taking care of his issue.

This reminds of of Tulving, another precious metals company that pulled the same thing, ultimately filling for bankruptcy.

Yeah, I tried to buy some plastic capsules recently from their accessories section, over a hundred so not a tiny order. Apparently that is not a big part of their business, so they don't care too much about those orders. Anyway, the pricing for postage was apparently wrong upon ordering, so they asked for a considerable amount more to dispatch the order. Communication was quite slow and just ended up cancelling for a refund. Very poor service if you ask me. Not expecting a lot because they have low prices, but they are confrontational with customers.

I made an order in late 2013 and it took 3-4 weeks to get my order.

Tulving did do the same and yes they are not gone.

Be careful lots of scammers out there.
