Title: A way to get the word out in meatspace
Post by: technowizard12 on May 22, 2011, 12:52:55 AM
Hey all,

I'm thinking about starting a campaign to get the word about Bitcoin out to the real world. I'm going to be printing out small circular brochures which tell a little about bitcoin and link to a premade MyBitcoin account with 1 bitcoin in it. This way they can start contributing to the marketplace right away! Any thoughts?

Good point. Instawallet it is.

I'll CC-license the designs when I'm done so that people can take them to kinkos and distribute them wherever they live.

Hope you guys like it!

As part of my charity work for all bitcoin has allready given me in just 4weeks I decided to also go the route of "MEATSPACE" advertising hehe

I ordered cheap 2color White/orange pamflets to be made, will get designs prob later during this week. Take a guess what the orange colour is for ;)

Pamflets work out about 5c each so its quite a good mass print deal.

Anyhoo, trying get finish up a website jobs that informs users about everything they might need to know while they run the webintegrated bitcoinminer from http://bitp.it/ to get 50 000 printed and handed out during rush hour.

I still have to test the miner, hopefully can get to that today or tomorrow(monday) but I think its a great way to generate funds, in my case charity cause. Users will visit my website with most of the important bitcoin myths and legends, while they read through it their cpu's generate BTC to distribute to charity.

Cant wait to see how this pans out, could just be one of the most important parts of bitcoin.

Clipse I like the idea dude, but how many people will need to visit the site in order to make it worth while?

I visited and I was only doing 5000 hashes/sec

It depends on what you mean by "worthwhile".
If thousands of potential Bitcoiners feel good for leaving their browser pointing at a page, that is very worthwhile.

With a thousand it's as worth while as my 2 laptop CPUs. With a hundred thousand it's 4 GPUs.

edit: Sorry, missed that you were talking feelings, calcs irrelevant perhaps.
