Title: [CLOSED] Collection of Casascius Coins - 25BTC, 5BTC, 1BTC
Post by: padrino on January 21, 2015, 04:15:45 AM
Too many requests for various price points, appreciate the 30+ offers received of all flavors but given the questions on quality it seems it's best I just get them all graded and then press with selling them... Given that I am sending them for grading and will update thread when they all come back..

I have a collections of funded Casascius coins I've been holding onto for some time, it's been a good place to put BTC however things have changed some and I want to liquidate at least some of the coins.

Initially posting this to gauge interest in the coins, will pull specific data on the coins themselves as needed...

1 - 2011 25BTC
1 - 2012 5BTC
9 - 2013 1BTC

I need to look around today and get a better feel for the market, in looking at some threads after the fact it looks like I should probably get them all graded first so there is less ambiguity around the quality...

Grading them will help some on the prices, but the 2013 brass do not fetch a huge premium.

You didn't expect to get 39BTC face value for only 32.5, did ya?   :p   (Yes, I would love that deal as well).

pardrino...

I am interested in the coins as a LOT.  If you post or PM prices  (individually and a group purchase), I would seriously consider it; however, I think you're hoping for people to throw out numbers without an actual sale/auction in mind.   So, just to start that off, I am obviously happy to offer face value with expectations of it starting to go up from there.

Also, do you have a picture of the back.  Your post doesn't mention if the coins are entact or redeemed.   ;)

Well, according to the post/PM you listed, it was for all 11 coins.  "Me counts gud"

With all your massive stores of bitcoin, you were really getting nit picky?    Oh geesh.

Ok, I would buy them all.  /me is awaiting a quote/pm.

And, why isn't the scammer PMing me anymore.   I feel left out.

I'm playing catch up with PMs, the two days of downtime and half missing threads messed up a number of ongoing discussions..

Have offers all over the place for all of the coins, the market definitely is dynamic for these but in looking at your last PM your offer is under a number of others..

This, I hate when I make offers and people don't reply. Just make a counter-offer!

LOL

Graded coins makes it easier to sell; however, YOU sending in for grading means you're going to pay a higher price than someone established which would get a better discount.

This will also take a month to get done.
And, you will raise the price higher than many would have paid simply because of the additional cost of shipping, insurance, grading, etc.

Basically, you should just close the thread and come back in a month when you get the coins and post individually with a price (or starting price) per unit.  Selling in a lot will not get you that.

Spending  more time figuring out how the real buyers are will help too.

I am absolutely sure that I can't beat out a scammer in price offering, and I can't beat out the person that just simply wants a coin no matter how above value he bids.

It's good that you're not in a hurry.

Good luck.

PS.  You should also work on your terms of payment.  Meaning, I will not pay you for something I haven't yet received.  So, you have to decide how to transact.  Someone to escrow for you or meet in person, etc.

This what you can expect if you don't list a asking price, then will you get everything from low ball offers, offers with conditions, trades with other coins etc.

About the grading, I would personally only send them to grading if you are relatively sure they would score MS65 or above... those MS64 can be hard to flip with a premium above the ungraded version.

Good luck with the sale :)

Michail1, TookDk, All:

I'll be frank I didn't expect the interest I received and was definitely caught off guard.. Generally I step into any potential sale much more prepared but this was definitely my fault.. I appreciate your responses and feedback..
