The most likely scenario is definitely related to network settings. I suspect you are probably running your home network on a different subnet than he was running at his house. Try changing your DNS to "8.8.8.8" - that's the free Google DNS and got me up and mining quickly.

All my second hand S1's get reset and switched to DHCP. Once my router allocates an IP address they keep it. I just use Advanced IP Scanner to find them and then make a list. I do it this way because although I have decent computing skills but networking is definitely NOT one of them. |
