Title: What's going on with Altcoin Herald ACH? From 4000 to 60 in a month
Post by: runpaint on January 31, 2015, 06:12:02 PM
I admit I don't know much about this coin, even though I bought a very small amount back in November.  I sold some, but what I had left entitled me to a small payout of NXT in December.  Apparently it's an investment thing from the news website Altcoin Herald, and they are supposed to do regular payouts.  But I didn't get a payout in January, so I figure that might have something to do with the price crash.  But I haven't been able to find a single topic about it, so I started this one.

Does anyone know if they did a share split or something?  I think it had a relatively scarce supply, but now there are 800,000 of them for sale.

This thread says the dividend should be paid today but nobody seems sure if it will be and there is heavy dumping at present.

Ok, according to that there are 5 million shares.

On the one hand, I don't usually buy into ICOs, shares, stocks, or other coins that aren't just cryptocurrencies.  I think the value of a cryptocurrency comes from mining, the strength of the network, the coin's utility, and the participation of the users.  A good coin doesn't need something else "backing" it.

But on the other hand, I have seen some things from Altcoin Herald that I liked a lot.  That doesn't necessarily mean that the coin is good even if the website is good, but if I thought it was worth 3000 satoshis 2 months ago then I might see myself buying a little more at 100 satoshis.

Can anyone clarify - these ACH shares are a NXT asset introduced at a ratio of 1 coin for 1 NXT;

So aren't they worth at least 1 NXT?  And they're selling for 100 satoshis?

Now the price has tripled.  That might still be a good buy, unless those people who were selling at 100 have some relevant information

These shares aren't backed by NXT, the asset owner initially sold them to the public for 1 NXT each (He paid 1000nxt to create the asset, that's all)
And according to this thread it was the asset owner who has been dumping shares on Poloniex (for way less then 1 NXT): https://nxtforum.org/kongzi-news-service/altcoinherald-investor-alert/

So it's risky.

Heres the main ACH thread on NxtForum:
https://nxtforum.org/assets-board/%28ann%29-%28ach%29-altcoin-herald-now-available-as-an-asset/msg95925/#msg95925

And here are the two best pieces about it from ACH themselves:

https://altcoinherald.com/ach-now-available-nxt-secure-asset-exchange/
https://altcoinherald.com/wiki/index.php?title=ACH

As you can see from the Wiki piece, next dividend payout was scheduled for 31/01/2015.

Quote
Dividend Payments

Dividend payments from revenue generated will be paid on a monthly basis and will be disbursed to Asset Holders of record.

Dividends will be calculated as 40% of our gross revenues. Dividends will be paid two weeks after the operating period ends. The first Dividends were paid on October 17, 2014 and will reflect the operating period of October 1 to 15, 2014. Dividends will be calculated every two weeks after that. And paid within 1 to 2 days of the period ending.

Operational expenses will not be counted before dividends are calculated. Our operation expenses are minimal and our experienced team remains committed to frugality.

Our main priority will be to provide investors with a safe and steady return on their investment.

The ACH asset should be returning a dividend of 40% of Altcoin Heralds gross revenue, though that revenue has probably been hit badly over the last months.
It is therefore incorrect to think of the ACH asset as being backed by 1 NXT.
One ACH cost 1 NXT on issue, but the backing is the expected value as a result of revenue from the Altcoin Herald business.

ACH are long-con scammers who were ousted in the NXT community back when they listed there. There was a huge controversy over it because they played dumb. When the community persisted, she hired attack-dog posters to come in and trash everyone who had spoken ill of ACH. They were eventually banned from the forums for 3 weeks.

I'm not surprised at all that a "mysterious whale" has dumped shares of ACH. Heather had been accumulating company shares in a number of fakewhale accounts since the start of this whole endeavor. There are also unconfirmable reports that they had been jitney-ing trades on poloniex to up their volume a few months back. I am not surprised at all that people have lost all their money on this one. It now appears as if the reason for the fake share accumulation was so that they could anonymously dump shares and blame it on the market. Well, they got caught, but decided to wait a few months and then do it anyway.

I also strongly suspect that the ACH team is involved in more than one scam in the NXT community.

From http://nxtnews.ca/mediawiki/index.php/ACH#Trust_Issues:

Attempting to Hide Share Transfers to Herself
It looks as if the company has been caught stealing shares for the owner without no payment. When confronted, Heather gave us a story about a group of German Investors who wished to remain anonymous and a transfer button that "doesn't work". A full analysis is present in their discussion thread (read discussion starting here (https://nxtforum.org/index.php?topic=5042.msg116931#msg116931) or skip a few details and go to the start of the trainwreck (https://nxtforum.org/index.php?topic=5042.msg118515#msg118515)).

Paying Dividends to Unsold Shares
    Issue in progress.
It seems she's paid dividends to all existing shares, including unsold IPO shares: https://nxtforum.org/index.php?topic=5042.msg121291#msg121291

Apparently there are "issues". I'm betting the div button is greyed out or smth.

Altcoin Herald are slimes. I remember back during the Uro drama they concocted a grand conspiracy story about how Green Earth Systems went out of business and that the developer "bought" the domain and faked the company being in business to pump the coin. Obviously this all proved to be bullshit when the CEO cut a video to prove not only is he real but he speaks English (lol) and the Urose event proved they were very much around. When I called them out on them retracting their BS story on twitter they just put me on ignore.

Whatever they write I guarantee its designed to enrich them or their friends in some way.

Anyone reading that thread and knowing even very basic stuff about web site economics...
Would have just moved on... LAUGHING at paying 100 times Fair Value for the ACH shares.

Blogs are generally terrible investments.

Basically, if you are a moron... people will sell you Bad Investments.
It's legal to sell a moron a Bad Investment... I can sell you my $1,000 car for $100,000.

The Nxt Asset Exchange is full of Good and Bad Investments, that's YOUR problem as a high risk speculator.

NXT itself is up 2,000 times in value since launch about one year ago (and has been much higher)...
And there are Crypto Assets out there that will be 2,000 times higher one year from now.

There are only 5 million shares, and someone is dumping millions.  Not even selling them dirt cheap, but purely dumping them down from 100 to 21 as if they're after something more important than money.

I wouldnt hold my breath for dev updates :(

The ACH asset owner account has been emptied out: https://nxtblocks.info/#section/accountId/NXT-V9ND-E489-AXUL-5HH5Q

4.1mln ACH (of the total 5mln) were transferred from this account on Jan 26 (first to NXT-XA92-7JP3-BEYX-EA2J3 and then to Poloniex):
https://nxtblocks.info/#section/txid/13382043624448877547

The owner hasn't been active on NXT forum since February 1st, and the site itself hasn't been updated for weeks too ...

I don't think there a way to do the reverse? ACH Poloniex -> NXT Wallet ..?
Poloniex trading ACH is pretty useless if you can't fund your NXT account with ACH assets from Poloniex..?

If you seriously invested into ACH after the pages of scam evidence on NXT forum, you deserve to lose your money.

Pro tip: Leave crypto now, you will get eaten alive if you were so gullible to invest into such an obvious scam.

Just recently found out about this. I had them in my bookmarks. Now all I see is this:

http://s1.postimg.org/ee6fhi6fz/ach_Custom.png (http://s1.postimg.org/67efpxgdb/ach.png)

Have there been any further updates? I'm only asking because I had a few ach assets on the NXT AE myself.

If they are truly gone then that's a shame. I really enjoyed reading their news articles. Seems so unlikely that it would be a pump and dump scam. I believe the owner used to be quite active on the NXT forums too. :(

If anyone is interested in a similar investment, here's another one which might be worth a look:

Quote from: Bits of News
In addition to its unique set of features, Opal announced today a revolutionary system of dividends simply for holding the coin.

Opal today announced a system of revenue generating sites, the first one being bitsofnews.net, that will have all revenue generated go back to Opal users through dividend payments. This serves as both an incentive for users to hold Opal, as well as holding them in their local wallets and cold storage.

Opal believes that this will help create incentives for users to try out the coin, and will also encour- age long term holding, because in addition to staking intrest, there will be a steady flow of revenue generating sites.
