Title: User spamming the question: Do you accept escrow?
Post by: Quickseller on February 05, 2015, 01:01:57 AM
User josef2000 (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=359905) has posted 13 times asking various people if they accept escrow out of the last 20 posts he has made.

This includes 9 times in the span of ~8 minutes.

Looking at pages two and three, most of his posts are made up of very short posts, including several others inquiring about escrow (while it does not appear that he ever follows up with the threads later, indicating a probable lack of interest in actually trading).

He is wearing a bit mixer paid signature.

I would like to request that this be addressed.

Thanks.
One question,
why am I not allowed to ask people if they accept escrow to prevent a scam?

One question,
why am I not allowed to ask people if they accept escrow to prevent a scam?

It is called "spam" , and in this forum the spam is not accepted.

If I will post the same phrase 100 times per day , it is called "spam"; if I will post  " +1, great, etc.." it is also called unsubstantial post/spam.

You were posting essentially the same post several times over. You likely did not have any actual interest in what was being sold, nor did you come back to further discuss the thread when you got a response. It was clear that your goal was to increase your paid post count.

As a matter of balance, I did trade with josef2000. I found him a bit difficult to talk to (maybe he's a teenager or has ADHD?), but the trade went fine.

Your aloud to ask what you want but once or twice is enough anything more than that when your partaking in a sig campain is considered spam.

It's probably ok to send messages for this, though there wouldn't really be any way for staff to know you were sending PMs unless they were reported.

I would like to request to (temporary) remove the ban for Josef2000 because we have an GB where he is a buyer.
Please check GB --> https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=895021.0

Thanks, Carsten.

well i know i am still new to these forums but i have lost alot of money from "trustworthy people" on other boards why isnt asking if people accept escrow a valid question even if it is 20 times a day?

He did not appear to have any actual interest in the answer to his question. His behavior was indicating that he was most likely asking the question for no reason other then he was getting paid on a per post basis and he was really not contributing to the conversation

Maybe because user is not following up to question posed. His/Her behaviour seems limited to ONLY up post count.

No wonder his account name seemed familiar. He went straight to my ignore list after making a loan request.

I have seen posts like "All collateral to be held by trusted escrow" appear in multiple threads.  :)

2000 = year 2000 aka 14 / 15 years probably , its possible that he's a big trader and dont wanna get scammed.

Many people are creating accounts here to pump them and sell later when rank goes up.
It is clear that he is spamming to pump up the post count.
New accounts should be restricted about new posts idk, like a month or so, by limiting them to 5 posts per day or so.
You cannot just come and post anything. It aint rite. I would like to be a Hero member too and to gain a bunch of BTCBTCBTC per month, but I dont want to spam or bother with spammy content. Community is about to be social. Being social? Well, search about it.

Post count over activity count is an overkill since Rank is calculated on the minimum between the two counts. I don't think we need such a new cap.

We don't need a post count limit, as rank is determined by your activity, and you can only get up to 14 activity in 2 weeks, regardless of your post count.
