Title: amazon discounts are they legit or scams?
Post by: geoffreyqp on February 11, 2015, 01:29:50 PM
can they prove that the gift cards are not "carded".

from what i've read on other sites, even if i buy something. i'm likely to not get in trouble. however, my address can get blacklisted so amazon won't ship to me anymore.

the recent threads are getting a lot of hits, yet a couple months ago people were making the same offer at 30-35% off amazon prices and those threads got ignored to some extent compared to the ones being posted now. i ordered a few things for xmas, and all seems well so far about 1-2 months later. but i decided to stop using the service back then.

if they can prove that the gift cards are legit, i would order a couple thousand $'s worth of stuff for sure just so i can resell it for profit.

if it's too good to be true, it probably is.

not saying that you aren't legit. actually i hope they are because it's an amazing deal. but just stating the obvious to protect others in this thread just in case.

Well... I was tempted too.
But I came to my own (personal) conclusion that it is not worth the "risk" just to save a few hundred dollars.
Basically I do not want to risk my name and address to be associated with anything shady on the internet - not worth it for saving some dollars.

someone has a $100 birthday gift they want to turn into BTC and willing to take a 50% loss

ok... i mean still risky ive seen people scam for less than that

someone has unlimited amounts of amazon credit at anything over 10% discount

you are participating in a crime...

See if the offers are too good then they are just scams! No one will sell you things worth 100$ for 1$ but if someone does this then he is scamming.
Better to stay away from such scams. Don't give in no matter how much you are tempted.

To all the naysayers here, I own an Amazon selling service and I also have a couple of questions for you.

Number 1 : Do you think Amazon is retarded ?

2. Do you think Amazon lets you buy gift cards and with stolen credit cards and after the owner chargebacks, they don't cancel the gift cards and lets you use it forever and ever until the end of time ???

3. Do you believe in fairy tales ? If Yes, in which one ?

4. Do you honestly think that you can buy a gift card anywhere in the world (not just Amazon) and than chargeback your credit card afterwards and get away with it ? What do you think it will happen ?

Please try it and see what Amazon does to your account. Than come here and tell us, if it's possible to "steal" from Amazon.
I am ready to make a 100 BTC bet with all the naysayers here, that your account will be closed in less than 48h after the chargeback . Are you in ?

Now if you take just 1 min of your time and go onto  the part of internet where you never gone before, you will have a revelation :

http://www.giftcardgranny.com/sell-a-gift-card/

https://cryptothrift.com/auctions/gift-cards/2000-amazon-gift-card-for-sale-at-1500

this is just a fraction of the websites from where you can acquire gift cards at under 75% of the value (if you buy in bulk of course).

So yes people, there are plenty of legitimate businesses that sell gift cards at a significant discount when buying in bulk. Now that the conspiracy is over I hope you can now live in peace with yourself and with others who are trying to make an honest buck.

I took 1 minute of my time to check out your claims.

Looks like giftcardgranny has a single amazon code for a 4% discount, with the rest being 1% discounts.

The cryptothrift seller you linked is brand new, and could be a total scam for all anyone knows.

I'm a bit disappointed with the argument you're trying to make here.

People wouldn't notice the fraudulent charges for a month at least. If you receive the goods bought with a carded code Amazon will pursue you.  It could be months down the road also. People taking upto 10% I could see versus LBC prices, but 25% screams scam.

Oh and of course always brand new accounts offer them...

The only way you'll find out they're carded is when you hear "police, open up, search warrant!" at your door after Amazon reports you for receiving fraudulently paid-for goods.

It took you one minute but you didn't spend it where you should....maybe it should've taken you more and you would've figured out yourself

Try and sell your amazon vouchers to any of the vendors on www.giftcardgranny.com , see how much they pay you for it ?

Are all these websites  scams in your opinion ? ....look'em up , you could do that you know...

As for cryptothrift.com, all deals are made through Escrow so where is the scam there OgNasty ?

People just don't get it that :  you can acquire gift cards for even less than 25% . Especially when buying in bulk.

what is bulk?

can you handle 100k USD?

if so order 100K worth of this product. delivered to your own house

i'll meet you in the lobby of any US bank with 25k USD worth of bitcoin for the product

i'd buy every gold / silver item you can order from amazon DELIVERED TO YOUR OWN DOOR (because you know if the cards are legit that is no problem for you to do)

25% even 50% of the listed value. any bank in the US 100k lets do this

Bulk means everything above $10k...I have $33000 USD right now in Amazon codes...so let me get this straight, you just want the Silver/Gold right ? I'm ok with this...no probs...

But what happens if I order your stuff and you don't show up ? I  will have 33k in silver or gold at 25% less the market prices ...correct ? how would you expect this to work for both parties ?

I wonder how quickly you notice $1000 USD missing from your credit card  8)...I bet it takes you months, maybe years till you notice that your card is  used fraudulently ? Well, are you in a coma ? Because it is either that, or you are way too rich to notice 1k gone the wrong way...

With all due respect here, this discussion is getting ridiculous with all sorts of "SnowWhites in a coma" posting here. If you have arguments I am ready for an open discussion , if not I will stop answering you guys.

i misread your post to be 25% of value instead of 25% off
so a $100 purchase you would want $75 (i was misreading as $25)
but no problem this might still be doable

If i did not show up you would have spent these gift cards which i can only assume you are obtaining for less than $75 at their full face value on gold which just about every city in the world has a shop that would pay you more then you paid amazon at that 25%+ discount - but i would not be against btc held in escrow on the condition i showed up

what state are you in?

(thread hijacking but i think people would be more willing to do something like this if you showed you had no problem shipping the product to yourself and doing the trade in person)

Let's take this discussion elsewhere ...send me a PM and  we can work something out if you are really interested...

As for "people would be more willing to do something like this if you showed you had no problem shipping the product to yourself and doing the trade in person" ... Well that's impossible for the kinds of deals I am doing right now...I am selling one antenna , one SSD, one Trezor etc people are ordering one product at a time, and  they live all across the USA...I even have a client from Honolulu ...are you suggesting meeting them all in their locations with their products ? :)

What you suggest works only for a bulk buyer, which I don't have right now, but maybe I will have one in following months ..once I find one buyer ready to buy all my vouchers or just stuff I can do deliveries...but right now for a SSD or other items it's just pointless to even think at your method...

This is a business experiment that should work given the allocated time and funds for it...however only time will tell...

I think this practice is illegal and obviously dishonest, why someone should request a refund (or better a partial refund) after receiving the "object" that he ordered?

The old saying goes if something is to good to be true then it usually is, you are right to be weary op it seems to good to me.

If you have these brilliant discounts why do you not buy something from there that is already pretty cheap then sell it on i what i would want to know.

Don't risk you're personal details address etc for saving a couple of bucks when you run the risk of there being no amazon discount anyway lol

i like openness especially in a case like this

you are trying to weasel out of this "only works for a bulk buyer"

i'm right here making a bulk offer

http://www.amazon.com/2015-American-Gold-Eagle-U-S/dp/B00SCIPXN6/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1423683159&sr=8-1&keywords=gold+eagle

1,429.95 free shipping

* 10 * 0.75

= 10724.63 USD worth of bitcoin

assuming you live within the continental US and would be willing to meet in a secure+public location i come to you so no worries about travel expenses for you

edit: i would actually find 10 or 15 more such coins if this deal was serious to use up all 33,000 usd worth of cards you have

i would be willing to escrow some amount to guarantee my appearance at the location but this should not be a big worry for you as you would be buying gold at a 25% discount for yourself and you could just turn around and sell it and instant profit in cash

i would expect you to escrow enough btc to cover my travel expenses to guarantee i am not traveling for nothing

we need an Escrow deal for this, i am not buying 10k worth of coins at 25% less the market price just because you said so...No offense man , but your trust is 4...We work out an Escrow deal or it's the highway...If you think your word is worth $10k on this forum , well I'll say just this  : "not to me"

Put the money in an escrow trust and I am doing this...I am not moving one finger just because you said you'll buy all those coins...what you said and what you will do are 2 different things, so put your money where your mouth is and let's do this...

can we agree that you are obviously getting these cards for over a 25% discount ?

otherwise we would have to conclude they are stolen cards

so if you are getting them at discount that means

you would pay less then 75% value on the gold

if I did not show up jackpot you have a pile of gold to take to your local coin dealer and sell at a very nice profit since you got the gift cards used to purchase the gold at a discount

it is a no loss situation for you

the more you talk the more this falls apart on you

Camel,

You are crazy man.. you need therapy...

I told you a million times : Put 10k into Escrow than I order your stuff and try to meet you...Plain and simple.... I actually agreed to EVERYTHING you've said...

What you did next ? You gave me a negative feedback because you "suspect"  that my codes were not legitimate !!! I agreed to ALL your terms IF YOU DO ESCROW and immediately after you gave me MAXIMUM negative feedback ... If that's not mental, than I obviously don't know what crazy is.....

I tell you what I suspect : I "suspect" you are not well .

Should I give you back negative feedback for that ? because of what I "suspect" ? Do you understand ANYTHING from this rhetoric ? I don't believe you do...

Seek therapy ! FAST !

why doesn't the amazon seller, just buy the gold coins himself? he can bring it to any coin shop/pawn shop/jewelry shop and profit.

that's a serious question btw. if a good answer can be given then it might be more interesting.

that's a serious question btw. if a good answer can be given then it might be more interesting.

"He already said he wants everything to be escrowed"

And I always said, put out the 10k in an Escrow and let's do this : What he did next ? He left me  MAXIMUM NEGATIVE REPUTATION !!! I am sorry but this is just insane behavior by any definition. Why would you leave somebody negative reputation after he agrees to your terms ? It's just MAD.

Regarding the other posts....

I am buying stuff from Amazon that I resell locally all the time. I just don't want his coins, because the profit margin on his coins suck compared to other items that I re-sell.

This will be my last post here, as I believe that I did more wrong than good by coming here and talking to people. People here are very conspirative to say the least ...but I do not blame you....How you view the world is your problem....

I tried to reason with you and  where did it got me ? I got a free negative reputation....What should I do next ? Give him back negative reputation because I honestly believe he's crazy ??  Do you think that would be mature of me or by anybody's standards ? No thanks, I'm not that kind of guy...I would rather work hard and prove you and him different....

I even showed you several legitimate websites where they buy Amazon gift cards LEGALLY with 25% off. Now if you believe that those websites are fake as well (without investigating them for one second), and everything but BITCOINTALK is true and legitimate, than I guess that  : This is the only view you wanna see and I respect that. Peace

I don't understand how can those discounted card exist unless something illegal is done.

I don't understand why would someone sell it on the Internet.

The negative trust was a dick move.  :(

He has now sent several feedback comments but received none. Why?

Hello,

I am new to this forum, but I have sold E-Gifts to a person I think is on this forum Dr-Exchanger and many other users online. I go by the same nickname JohnDurston on LBC and I have 100% feedback with 60 different trading partners and I have been on that website for over 1 year.

Instead of arguing with people online for Trust etc. Do me a favor and tell me what coin shop will buy coins in 5-10k denominations? I have no problem sending to my own address and I will visit any coin shop that will take them in the United States. Thanks.

Also include what rate they will give me. Thanks in advance.

It involves fraud or CC-stealing.

Definitely not legit.

what coin shop wouldn't take them is the better question. pretty sure almost all would at least give you a check, and a lot of them can just give you cash as well.

he expects trust right away after people receive items. perhaps some buyers are waiting a couple months to see if chargebacks occur before leaving feedback.

Not all the people return positive feedback... I am not gonna give names here but some of them resume to post in my thread "received" and some of them don't even bother to confirm receival by any means . It is their choice and I respect that. Once I complete a trade with somebody and I get my payment (Escrowed or not) I always post feedback about the order.. I believe this is the right way to keep this forum healthy and people informed, but some people think otherwise...I have no problem with that, whatever is in their comfort zone is fine by me....
