Post by: uuidman on July 25, 2012, 12:54:49 PM
Just wondering if anyone else had some issues, my sell order seemed stuck and kept recurring as executed and the high price went from 8.63 to 8.71 but didnt show on btcchart. A little hickup maybe ? Anuone else ?

Hello uuidman,

Some of the data feed sites (i.e. ClarkMoody, btcchart) get stuck every so often. Most of them have some kind of warnings, for example: "Do not assume this data to be 100% accurate or write trading bots that rely on it."-BitcoinCharts.com

Assuming your sell order was @8.63 and the high price of 8.71 was executed after your order was on the MtGox books then your order is filled. Are you confirming your trade thru MtGox?

Do you have an order entry timestamp for us curious folks?  ;D

I have noticed similar behavior. I've had a sell order open for almost 24hrs now @8.645. It has not executed despite the high price spiking up to 8.70 on several occasions. Wasn't sure what to think about that.

Yeah I am aware of the problems that can occur with the data-sites. But now it was that mtgox home page high price that showed the error and my last order seemed stuck, but after a while everything seemed correct again. I guess that it was a hickup in the datasource that feed the high price at the webpage. I guess its better to get it by the API if it happens again. And maybe it sounded worse than it was as the sell order was not as high as the shown error high price, it was just a couple of cents from the last trade. But the ocurring reloading seemed a little odd. I recall that I have seen this reloading before a long time ago, but then it was under heavy stress trading. Nevermind, if it happens again I will dig deeper.

Im quite sure that the shown high price was an error at the source.  Seems like the price hasnt been in that range. I see a short spike at 8.63 almost 22hour ago, but that is from a data-site.  :)
