Title: This forum has gone down the crapper.
Post by: LiteBit on July 29, 2012, 03:34:54 AM
I'm tired of the ENTIRE 1st page of forum topics being everything but Litecoin advances.

Where are topics of actual Litecoin Development?
Where are breaking news topics on Litecoin projects, websites, merchants...?
What cool ideas are people mulling over?

Give us a break.

There's plenty of talk about advances like the 51% killer concepts (avoid centralization).

I totally agree. But it's alternate currencies that has gone down the crapper, not the whole forum.

LiteCoin hasn't given the world anything new yet it's being pumped to death by the type of people who spend their time looking for the next get rich quick scheme.

Just for once I'd love to see something new or different in alt-currencies. Something open transaction based, barter based, or something that doesn't need an internet connection to function.

What are you guys whining about?  :)
For example, Mr. Mugen did some good work for Drupal/Litecoin https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=79848.0

Do you really believe, that if mods will close this subforum
the progress in blockchain technologies will stop,

I love progress. LiteCoin isn't progress, it's exactly the same as BitCoin with a couple of changed numbers.

SolidCoin was deeply misguided but at least it was slightly different. NameCoin was a possible solution to a major problem the whole internet faces daily. I0Coin/IXCoin/GG/FairBrix/LiteCoin/RusCoin/BBQCoin don't add anything except an opportunity for get rich quick types to get in at the start of a new ponzi.

BitCoin was a prototype, it happens to work very well but it's still a prototype. There is space for something better than BitCoin if anyone has the wit to invent it.

+1 Ukigo.

SD, we heard you, you don't like Litecoins. Instead of trolling Litecoins, you could spend that time developing your own offline coin.
It's not about "getting rich quick." I have invested half of my Bitcoins in LTC and converted 15% of my LTC to Solidcoins. I just feel safer that way. You might like to sleep with all your money under your bed but some us like to invest in different places, projects, etc.
You should not tell people how they should invest their money.
We could always shout back and say "SD, if you want progress, go and invest in Apple with BCX."

This is not the LiteCoin board. This is the Alternate cyptocurrencies board. LiteCoin isn't very alternate, it's just a recompile with a different name and a far lower hashrate.

Although BCX didn't 51% LiteCoin it remains possible for anyone with a credit card to do so on a bunch of EC2 machines. Does that make you feel safe?

You are clearly just trolling when you imply I like Apple or BCX. I've never mentioned Apple here and my last few comments to BCX were not exactly friendly.
