I didn't try the test, but I'm pretty sure I average at least 100 WPH. (Yup that's an H, not an M. :D)

To be fair, my original estimate was referring to actually writing of my own mind and opinion, then proof reading it, then rewriting or tweaking it as I often see fit to do.

Wow seriously? Are these stats correct? I thought the average user types around 70wpm. At least people I work with or friends.

My results on an inefficient laptop keyboard. Will try again when I'm on my desktop with Topre keyboard. At least it's enjoyable typing on.

Strangely his is a bit inconsistent because I have 40 and 39 but no wrong words. So what is it 39 or 40 ??? I know it's slow anyway...

Also, the test doesn't prove how fast you can write, only how fast you can copy a random text and it takes a bit longer to get the words right when they are out of context. For example i had phrases like "have my may" in my test.

Yes! that's copying but what other way do we have , if i would be asked to type anything , i will type words i use daily , that will be hell faster

I meant that i'd get a higher score if it was a normal piece of test like an article. Repetitions and similar words next to each other can be quite confusing.

Back in school days long ago we had this program called all the right type
So basically it was a satanic speed writing program
Where you type words and have speed calculated constantly play that for a bit and you become a speed writing demon
(Oh and ignore the hand position thing its faster to keep the hands split in two sections with the middle shared.)
Keep the fingers hovering over the main letters :)

I'm actually quite disgusted at all these low typing speeds, but maybe I'm a bit of an abnormality.  I guess I've played way too many MMO's and Runescape far too long which has augmented my typing speed to extreme levels.  10 fast fingers isn't even that hard to get a high WPM on since it's only common words with little punctuation.  I can easily type over 100 WPM on that site, but I'd reckon my typing speed when it comes down to actual full passages would be 80ish.

Wow I just tried this and only managed 40 WPM  :( I did stall quite a bit throughout the test though, I generally tend to not perform at my peak in time trials. I also don't have a good technique when it comes to typing words from the screen. I'm faster when I'm typing comments. Fun little game though, will practice more :)

I got 52 WPM  :(

I used to be able to type around an average of 80 words a minute. But went out of practice and now only able to top at around 60.

About 20 words a minute if I'm only using one finger.

I did alright, wasn't happy with my results...
