Yes, the BTC price is going up in a steady mode. Hopefully at this rate we might reach $300 soon enough. Hoping for the best and beyond. :)

Yeah, I'm super happy about a turnaround.  To be honest, I've been seeing a lot of stuff reporting 500$ as the right price.  If you believe that, you gotta buy!

Do not get too excited just yet. For many, it is the end of the fiscal year. This results in bonuses being handed out. In turn, it creates a ripple effect as people buy more bitcoin with the extra thousands/tens of thousands that they now possess. Supply and demand. Understand the statistics people.

You dumb asses.. markets go up and down. Be patient, sit back, and keep an open mind as you examine the charts.

Crossed my mind more than once ; as an artificial pumping of the price in order to sell the seized bitcoins for a larger sum, but u cant deny the flow of good news recently.
And the sum they're selling isnt THAT big. So rather than asuming its a pump and dump scheme all over again, i like to believe that we finaly reached the trend change.

Even if i am right , and the price wasnt manipulated, we have gone up alot in few days, and i doubt it can sustain this way for long, theres bound to be a correction,
a break point to breathe-in and possibley continue uptrend.

I really hope you are joking!? Unless you brought 100's of dollars worth when they was cents we are no where near a wealthy elite unfortunately we would need a market cap a thousands of times the size of now to all be wealthy  :-[ Possible? probably not 

We are far from being enywhere near the awareness we need to have in order to become something of the wealthy elite sort,
but dont ruin the little guys happynes :] , or was he saying it as an irony ?

I hope you realise that; even thos we are struggling like beggers to cross 300 barrier, the path of the world adoption wont take baby steps we are taking now, buck by buck,
i think its going to shoot up in steps of 100's, or even 1000's, but thats very very far from this moment in time.

Today's pump was to fast to be really stable. And we can't seem to reach threshold of $300. Price is sitting at $281 and we may pray for more.

I definitely don't want things to go up too fast.  I mean that would just bring about another crash.  I'd like the slow steady rise.  That'd be perfect.

Yes, we need it to have a steady increase. When it was around $400, it finally seemed like things were getting stabilized. Even if it goes up very slowing, the stability would be a nice change.

Yah, my perfect scenario is that bitcoin hits 500$ then stays there for years.  That would convince people that bitcoin is more than just a bubble like HYIP or something.

Its usually good early in the week. I believe it will start dropping again around Friday and stay around 240$ per btc.

The demand is still very weak and there is an over-supply of coins. Unless this situation is reversed, we will not witness any long-lasting rally. There could be some temporary bumps though, as a result of margin trading.

I love it when people shout happy days for BTC up. It is farm from up maybe a few % at the most. When it gets to 1400 a coin again then its UP and would be nice to see them figures again and sell around that or it becomes he new low.

I hope BTC kept going and sped up again, there's no term down-down again still sped up ;D ;)

Still got some moving up to do but again could see some more spikes down yet. If it does then am sure to be buying some more up at the lower prices. Would be insane to see $11 a coin again but doubt that will happen. Maybe into the mid $200s but doubt would last long as many want to get in at a lower price. Who knows only time will tell if BTC to go up or down but so far its on the move up again.

I think it will either pass 300 this week or come crashing down on us.

I'm trying my darndest to get to 50 BTC before we break $300 again, gimme a month or two people hold off on your rally!!

Who knows if some big hitters come in and dump then price will drop again. Its still the first quarter of year and some are still cashing in their btc for new years activities. towards the 2nd quarter of the year should see some rises but again all comes down to demands and services up and running and people using BTC.

when i saw the $160 and mostly price around $200 ± 10 i knew it is the lowest price that it is gonna get. and i think it is lifting up again the question is how much and when its gonna run out of steam again

Well, I lost my confidence when it first broke 300. Never had I expected to go lower than that, and it went from 300 to 150 pretty fast, and I used to think that anything is possible.

Its got the same kinda feeling as when we were going up to these levels back in 2013, seems like ages ago now.

Well for anything.... it would just be nice to see some +$500 figures for a while to shut all the trolls and shills on all the bitcoin forums.  >:(

It also help with the general moral boost of most forum members... when the price goes up, we see better posting and people tend to contribute constructively towards the forums.

True, most trolls are sour investors who didn't get the promissed moon high figures.

It is nice to see a rise again, shifting around some altcoin is paying off now :)

At least we now have hope that things are turning for the better. It might still be too early to tell what is going to happen next, probably it will drop a ton the next day or week to come, but I'm just full of optimism that the uptrend will just continue. If it maintains that way, I'm sure the future of bitcoin will be very bright.

I would prefer to see a slow but gradual increase. Never mind if it takes a long period of time to achieve a certain price level but as long as it can sustain the uptrend and growth, this should be good enough. Much better than seeing it grow too fast and then take the plunge the next following day.

It is great to see it grow fast, but then when it plunges, everybody cries...

The price seems to be steady around 280 this morning, lets all hope it does not come crashing down, I would like a nice slow and steady rise

It is real good this time , from like a month or two , the rise was fast and it again fell down but it is going pretty slow and easy this time .

I would not get exicted yet, lets see if it holds this price for a few days, it hasn't been a full 24 hours since it reached $280.

Indeed lock away and save for a raining day or for when a lot older is what am doing putting some into paper wallets and never taking away from them unless its an emergency to unlock and take out and spend

Seems 280 is the stable price for now. We have been around it for the past 12 hours. If support continues, it will slowly rise and touch 300 hopefully by the end of the week.

Never had looked at the chart , it is amazing indeed.
Though price seems stable since last day and that is god news , we actually took a pump of 50$ and resting there , hope it doesn't go down :)

Or it is just your average pump and it will come down in a day or two, i hope not OP but i have seen these fun games before the manipulators are gaining buy support at 280's and when they have enough they will dumpy dumpy back down to around 220 :/

It is fun if you are part of it so i ask you are you holding or are you unloading i am the latter well some of my holdings anyway i have made in the past shorting and while we have this low adoption will continue to in the future.

The trolls are the wanna be rich over night people, look in the btc-e troll box for example.

I guess it will reach $300 by Friday as it has been increasing consistently since the past two days and now I just hope that it increases or at least remains stable at $300.

In 2013 it increased to 1000$, because the government approved Bitcoin
Then somehow the price crashed in 2014 because big companies were all against it

From two months the price has not been pumped so high and it always goes down , though here it went up slowly and riding .
But if you clearly check the market , there are certain people pumping it , so It'll go down again as what i think, but that cannot be entirely true .
Seeing how many exchange went down this year, more and more people got the news and interest so they joined , much companies are starting to accept bitcoin and thus they are pumping the price , but no one is trying to dump hard , so it must stay good unless until someone buys that Ulbritch's batch and starts dumping

You seem excited "The BTC Train is moving good and pretty. WHoop Whoop!". Pumping really fast will eventually result in a crash.

The crash will happen in one or two days and lots of unhappy people again but everyone was pre warned it will crash but people do not like to listen when they have visions of 1000 dollars in their head lol Its the greed that stops people making more coin nothing else, to attached to the program and that is a bad move.

Either way i will be happy..

Price moves down → time to load up more coins!

the price is not what's important , what i like is that im seeing more and more bitcoin adoption which is what's sooo awesome :) price will be a bonus we'll see later on in development of bitcoin

Definitely, but the way the users' mindset are in the current time frame states that we aren't ready to disregard the price of bitcoin just for adoption. Most of the users here came for the money--not only the community--admit it. We can still get into that adoption, believe me, but as long as bitcoin has value, no one will ever disregard its price.

We are bouncing off that resistance area it seems, expecting another leg up to challenge $300 very soon.

What kind of technical analysis speak is that. Bouncing off resistance? Sounds like baloney to me. Bitcoin can go up, Bitcoin can go down.

It has now reached $267 and bitcoin is on a decreasing spree. I feel that it might take another week till it reaches $270 or $290 at least. Now people should start buying it as the rate is falling.

I'd say the events today will influence it in one direction or the other, though I don't think the movement will be terribly abrupt.
We shouldn't take long to see 300, maybe a month or so tops.

Yeah, seems like the price has retraced slightly. If we look at the positive side, at 270 at least it's still considered higher than 240 level we seen weeks ago. The problem is a lot of people have high expectation that they want to see major movement. For me, even if it retraced a little, it is still good enough. As long as it increases steadily.

Of course, all of us would like to see that price of bitcoin rich higher levels in shortest time as possible but patience is required here.
In the long term, I'm confident that BTC will reach again $ 500 and more.

Exactly, it can go anywhere. The only thing I expect from the near days is, the resistance will become the support. Not saying whether it will see some highs, but yes, the probability of buys has increased since sell-offs have stopped these days.

I think today may be an active day in the market. Lets wait and see, but I think it most likely just hold.

Well, I don't think so, as since that small sell-off took place, the volume has been much lower and stable to that extent only till now.
Not sure whether the auction is finished yet or not.

It seems like alot of people bought (or sold) when btc hit 261 at btc-e, volume has slowed down, but if it starts pumping a little I think trading volume will pick up.

Actual auction ends today at 2pm EST.  Winner will be notified tomorrow, so we'll see if there's any swings pretty soon:

Don't think the auction will have big impact on the price, if any. After all, it is two weeks of mining worth of coins. I know that to most users on this forum this seems to be awfully lot, but compared to the total market cap, it is just a small amount.

you buy at 264... then you sell at 269 ... rinse repeat

If the person who buys it dumps it all, then it will have a hugee impact on the price, hopefully they will use it to help Bitcoins price.

Oh look it's dropping right now. I hope that it will go down to $240 for me to snatch up some coins for myself.

The coins will be acquired at relatively cheap levels, compared to the previous auctions, so the chance that they hit the market immediately is very low. They must work for a much more juicy gain before that.

I sold at 283, made crazy money, bought back in the whole way down. so far I bought at 261, I would love lower. but it ain't happening.

As said before, the sell-offs are actually less as compared to the previous auction times (news) and buy side is currently more powerful in comparison to the bears, so lets hope the bulls get awake and just take it to some more better price as expected.

And yes, congrats for your profits and you will make more as I am sure it may go nowhere but up as the triangles are being seen again by the bots, just wait for a breakout instead of selling them at lower highs. ;)

exactly. Avoid day-trading, try to ride the longest waves possible. that means just a few trades a year, with stable trends, like we had so far.
